The Official PlayStation 3 | ViTA Thread Vol. Plenty of Life Left

At around $4.17 a month for PS+ (assuming you get the $49.99 membership), I think its definitely worth it.

I think it already paid for itself when I got it and I just became a member around 2 weeks ago.

Been on Injustice heavy. Still need to finish Bioshock and Ni No Kuni

Reminds me I gotta play Bioshock 2 for the first time. Bought my self a nice 51" Samsung and haven't even enjoyed it with HD gaming aside from Call of Duty.

Sony Computer Entertainment Inc. today announced Gran Turismo[emoji]174[/emoji]6 (GT6[emoji]8482[/emoji]), the latest version of PlayStation[emoji]174[/emoji]’s best-selling franchise, will be released in Holiday, 2013. The news was revealed today by legendary Gran Turismo creator Kazunori Yamauchi at an event held to celebrate 15 years of the 70-million-selling series.

GT6 for PlayStation[emoji]174[/emoji]3 will bring new levels of authenticity to ‘the Real Driving Simulator’ as well as introducing stunning new tracks and cars and a revised user interface. A new compact game engine will improve operation and increase the flexibility to expand it with downloadable content. Meanwhile, the game is also set for expanded connectivity with other devices such as smart phones and tablets and increased social and community functions.

All of the cars and tracks from Gran Turismo[emoji]174[/emoji]5, which has sold over 10m copies since launching in 2010, will be retained in GT6. But notable new additions to the already impressive line-up of historic cars, road cars and the latest race cars, brings the total car list to 1200 at launch, with new cars set to be continually added online. Several thousand aerodynamic parts and custom wheels will be available for almost all cars, and players can personalize their own custom cars in game to the greatest ever level possible.

The UK’s famous Silverstone Circuit will be just one of seven new locations in Gran Turismo 6, taking the total to 33, with 71 different layouts available, 19 of them brand new. There will also be regular additions of new tracks set to be made available online. The improved course maker function will provide gorgeous scenery spanning several tens of square kilometers including the magnificent backdrop of Andalucía.

The theme of Gran Turismo’s innovative collaborations with partner companies will increase with the inception of GT6. A number of exciting new projects that blur the line between the virtual and real will be announced in the run up to the game’s launch. Not least of these is GT Academy, a collaboration with Nissan to unearth real racing driver talent that first ran in 2008. It was announced during the event that the competition returns for its biggest ever year in 2013, with the entry mechanic set to take place on an exclusive GT6 demo in July.

Other notable partnerships in the development of GT6 have been with tyre manufacturer Yokohama Rubber and suspension company KW Automotive. Both companies are active in the commercial car industry and in racing, and they have acted as technical development partners for the game’s new physics engine, for its tyre and suspension kinematic modeling, creating an even more realistic experience for GT fans.

“It is amazing to think that it is 15 years since we first released Gran Turismo,” explained Kazunori Yamauchi, during the announcement at Silverstone Circuit. “Things have changed a lot since then and now Gran Turismo 6 is a further evolution of my dream. We’re pleased to deliver GT6 to PlayStation 3 as we have a very loyal community on that platform. However, we have refactored the game to make it very flexible and expandable, with a view to making many future developments. I am very pleased with everything about the new game and the new additions, but the launch will be only the beginning for GT6. The game will continue to develop throughout its life. I already have many ideas for things I want to achieve in the next 15 years of Gran Turismo!”

The celebration of 15 years of Gran Turismo event at Silverstone included a demo of GT6 featuring the famous circuit. Guests were able to play the game in the familiar circular Gran Turismo race pods before having a chance to take to the real track in cars provided by Audi, Ford, Jaguar, KTM, Mercedes-Benz, Nissan and Toyota.

Further news about Gran Turismo 6 will be revealed at the forthcoming E3 and Gamescom events.

Reporting that there'll be 1200 cars. Hopefully they dont have the premium/standard BS that GT5 had. :{

of course theyre going to have it

you dont seriously think they properly modeled and driver animated all 1200 cars do you?

No, but I expect that the number should be closer to 50/50 rather than the 20% they had.

Turn 10 was able to do it for 500 cars in Forza 4....

EDIT: And of the 1200 how many are in the Used Car section, where 80% are models that do not need to be in the game. A 94 Toyota Carolla is cool, but if it means another model gets more detailed because it gets omitted, then I'm all for it.

turn 10 premium dont equal GT premium, GT premiums arent just visuals

I wish i had the gif but i dont.... but for premium cars, GT actually properly modeled the driver hand/arm-shift and leg/feet-gas/break animations for almost EVERY premium individually, if not all

heres how turn 10 handled it

GT = that authenticity

:lol @ that vid.

I can see what you're saying. I just hope we can get as many premium models in as possible.

I'll be buying day 1 regardless.

Probably zero chance of Porshe being in this as iteration as well. Stuck with standard RUF's. :{

Number one thing that keeps me from getting back in to GT5 is the God awful UI, so I'm glad to hear this.

Gran Turismo 6 'In Mind' For PS4

Gran Turismo creator Kazunori Yamauchi has revealed that the upcoming sixth entry in the racing simulator series is also being considered for release on PlayStation 4.

Speaking at today’s Gran Turismo 15th Anniversary event at Silverstone racetrack in England, Yamauchi told IGN, “We actually do have a PlayStation 4 version in mind, but for this holiday season, we thought it would be best for users to release on PS3 for now.”

Players eager to race around the world’s most iconic stadiums in all their next generation glory may want to put their brakes on though. Yamauchi adds, “I thought the best scenario would be to have the game come out, then to have new scenarios, new DLC and other updates. Once the players have thoroughly played out the system, if the PlayStation 4 version came out naturally, as part of that process, I think that would be the best scenario.”

Asked whether progress could be transferred from PS3 to future PS4 versions of the game, Yamauchi would only offer a coy “probably”.

Expect more info on the PS4 version of Gran Turismo 6 to be announced closer to the PS3 version’s release.

Looks like I'll be waiting for the PS4 version. Drive Club will be fine till this comes out.

can't wait looking good.

i finally almost beat ff ix.  I'm at the last boss but can't beat him yet.  I gotta level up.  10 years in the making.

The one thing I didn't bother to do in ffx was collect everything (I couldn't afford the guide back then).

I collected everything for ffviii.. roughly 100 hours total of gameplay... and I'm talking about drawing all magic for all characters.. took forever.

So I look forward on completely wasting my time on ffx and x-2.

I just changed my text message alert to a trophy unlocking.

Slow day at work.... :lol

:lol Mine's been like that for a year. It's a very good message tone

Anyone wanna give me that file?

Maybe ddouble has a better method, but I just went here:
