The OFFICIAL Powerball and Megamillions thread:

Fun Facts: States with the most lottery winners; California, New York, New Jersey and Illinois.

States with the biggest debts: New York, New Jersey, Illinois, Massachusetts and California.

Do these states also appear on the states with the highest costs of living list?

Good run. But there is still the Powerball at a life-changing 170 mil jackpot

I'm just gonna keep playing the state lotto every now and then. Jackpot is like 10 mil but for only $1 a play, I can afford to spend $5 a week...that's part of a lunch/coffee budget anyway

wow 1 winner?!
that person(s) is getting 460M straight cash homie

hope it was a work or family pool where we have 20 winners

I think there were 26 folks that hit 5 numbers......and they won ONLY 1-2M each......again not fair.....could have kept the jackpot at 1.1B and gave 200M to the 26 5# winners....oh well

back to spending less time day dreaming

Wait what????
Lotteries are outlawed in the state constitution

You can have raffles for charity but the state can't run one and lottery tickets can't be sold in the state. People in Nevada that want them mostly drive to the state line and buy them in Cali.

I think the ban was in the original constitution too. So it dates back to the 1800s

It won't be repealed either because all the casinos are against lotteries. They want people gambling with them, not the state.

But you never know, they flipped on sports gambling so if the state lets them own it, there might be one day. Or maybe a ballot measure passes one day

Doubt anytime soon though

I never would’ve guessed the state that houses Las Vegas and casinos would have lottery’s banned.

The more you know.

tribal casinos in CA trying to do the same with mobile sports betting. they don't even have sportsbooks smh just trying to monopolize everything.

theres a bill though so hopefully that passes. I'm lookin at everyone in the sports gambling thread and other homies posting their DraftKing screenshots and I'm here like

edit: they got the Vegas casinos with their big fancy sportsbooks behind them too though, so it'll be an uphill climb

Powerball is getting up their as well. At this point, everything I would do with the 1.3 billion, I could do with $170 million. What would change is the amount I would give to my family.
That Reddit thread posted changed my whole approach to the friends and family thing. NO ONE is getting cash from me. 20% of my winnings will go into a trust where they can ask for money to go towards higher education for them or their child, purchase of a home, and expenses for medically necessary surgeries/operations/treatment.

This is assuming like an 8 figure take home payout. If people aren’t grateful for that then **** em.
