RL, Corp. has been in the resale market for almost a decade.
They launched RLVINTAGE.COM in late 2013 where the bought ebay items, cleaned them up, and resold them through the niche website. RLVINTAGE.COM was discontinued, so they used the new Polo App to drive RL, Corp.'s resale effort.

IG Influencers are hired/used to curate most of the almost vintage items (likely from eBay) that are now resold on the Polo App.
