The Official Tennis Thread (Vol. 2024 French Open)

What a great comeback match for Caro. Looked really sharp.

^ That was hilarious... and it almost screwed Pegula over! Would have been a tough loss for her cuz that moment swung the momentum towards Iga!

Been watching mostly the WTA matches, didn't even realize Carlos had lost... to Tommy Paul. 😅

Tennis thread active during a non-Slam event? :nerd:

Really nice to see JPeg win the title after that huge win against Swiatek yesterday. It's pretty surprising that this is only the first title this year for the new World No 3. Had to be tough for Samsonova to play two matches on the same day.

Congrats on your first Masters 1000 title! You weren't watching your competition, you were up at 3 AM Toronto time posting on Niketalk on the day of your match and still managed to win the biggest title of your career?! Very impressive!

Oddly enough, this is the second year in a row Tommy Paul has beat Alcaraz in Canada. They've only played three times, but he's one of three men who have a winning record against Carlitos (Zverev and FAA are the other two, iirc).

703 hwy 703 hwy 's favorite player Coco finally gets a win over Iga. She probably should have won the match sooner since Swiatek couldn't buy a first serve later in the third set, though.

Coco's forehand has improved since adding Brad Gilbert to her team in Washington.

Two titles in three tournaments for Coco. Should be one of the top 3 favorites in New York based on her current form.

I can't find the stats, but what an error-fest for Muchova.
Coco's been on quite a run, but that match was tough to watch.
