^I didn't like the piece of metal either but after buying a pair of Strengths, I realized they act more as a weight keeping the straps out of the way while you're lacing them up. I'm not sure if that was the intent behind the design but I like them now.

^ If you send it to Nike they won't even open it.

There's TONS of legal loops you'd have to go through to get your rendering viewed...and it's really not worth the effort.
