I couldn't care less about your links. The fact that you said the vita is dead in the water is why I slashed out your statement. This act is getting tired: You can't stomach the fact that someone has different opinions and preferences than you, so you insult them.

Chronicles and Anthologies are just ports of SNES games. PS1 had great RPGs but so did PS2, just maybe not as many (Star Ocean, Dragon Quest, FF X, FF XII, Grandia III, Dark Cloud, Tales of the Abyss, Tales of Legendia etc.) . I just think PS2 had more games that I enjoyed. As much as I love RPGs I still like to switch it up and play something different. The franchises that are so highly regarded from the PS1 era weren't for me i.e. Spyro, Crash, Jersey Devil, etc. and like I said, with the exception of the JRPGs, I had more fun playing N64.FF 7,8,9, Tactics, chronicles, anthologies, chrono cross, MGS, SOTN, Xenogears, I could go on...
PS1 > PS2 imo...

Agreed. Yeah a lot of those RPGs dropped when I was too young which is probably why I had an N64 first. I remember how much I loved FF 3 (still my favorite game of all time) and when I finally got a PS1 my mom copped FF7 for me. I was so disappointed because it was nothing like FF3Agree to disagree, that's what the forums are all about. I was 12 or so when all of those amazing RPGs were dropping on ps1. The fact that the system had FF7, SOTN, MGS, Xenogears, makes it the best system ever to me. SNES is right there though, FF3, SOM, and CT are gawdly
And you're right about N64. I can still pick up and play those zelda games any day of the week

I was so disappointed because it was nothing like FF3 I think my Dad pawned it for some cash :x I eventually went back and played through all FF 5-9 when I was about 15. SOTN has been beaten so many times it's ridiculously. But all in all they both had some great timeless classics.
I don't want to get into a heated debate since this is between you and another individual but like I said on the last page there are games coming out for the system, doesn't mean it's dead if developers are making games for it. Whether there should be more development on the system is up for debate. The PS vita isn't dead because _____________________ ?
For the record, I want the Vita to do good so I can buy it and use it along side my PS4. I think it's an amazing piece of hardware but there's just not enough high quality exclusives. If you compare the Vita to it's only competitor, it IS dead in the water. 60 million units to 4 million. Quadruples the amount of exclusives the Vita has.
Me and my brother was debating this the other day, I actually liked Super Castlevania IV better. Obviously SOTN is the more popular of the two and is probably a better game in general but it's something about Super Castlevania IV and the wonderful soundtrack that just pulls me in
SOTN is probably top 3 or 5 all time for me, such an amazing game.
Now this, I can appreciate. There isn't a heated debate though and I didn't mean to derail the thread. I was being hyperbolic by saying it's dead but it isn't doing good either. Like I said, I hope it gets better because I wouldn't mind getting one. Like you said, it seems like a nostalgia device and THAT'S what's disappointing because how powerful the damn thing is.

In my opinion it comes down to preferences, what types of games you like, and what that person considers a good game.
If you like PC indie games you can take on the go the vita is going to be a good place for you along with full libraries of PSP and PS1 games. Not to mention a good amount of Japanese dev games.
SoTN is a masterpiece.

Nintendo handhelds will be dominant in sales because they've existed for so long and have a cult following. Their games are easy to get into and imo its meant for the more casual gamer. I think the vita is geared to all age groups, but it's mostly those in their teens and older age groups and those who keep up with gaming and such who purchase it. You claim the vita is dead in the water yet on the previous page someone posted a list of games that are coming out for it that add to the 850 that are out for it now.Uhh...go on?

After 117 hrs and 53 mins I have completed one sphere grid (Tidus)
Hate to be the bearer of bad news but it's actually 200 timesNice! I just got to the thunder plains in my game, I've been trying to see how many lightning strikes I can dodge in a row lol, definitely don't think I'll be able to do 100 again
Hate to be the bearer of bad news but it's actually 200 times
Make sure you have No Encounters equipped and use the crater trick (there's a vid on YT if you dont know what I mean)
I just need to finish the sphere grids for the remaining characters and go finish up the last two side bosses
