The Old PlayStation Thread | *NEW THREAD IS UP*

Yeah I suggest it ME is really great series in general imo. Once you get over the combat in ME1 and the ending in ME3 I think the rest of it is great

I played a little of the first one when I had a 360, but I never got to dive too deeply into it. Been wanting to grab this Trilogy anyway so it would be money well spent. Issue is, by the time I actually get around to playing it, the PS4 will probably have enough games I want to make the purchase and this would collect e-dust.

yeah the first game is pretty annoying at first but you get the hang of it pretty quickly. I was thinking if grabbing it but I thought I read in the thread that the trilogy would be coming to PS4 and X1 this year. But deff give it a try because it is one of the best franchises to come out from last gen

2014 in its entirety is about to be delayed until 2015

Ya'll trippin, $60 is a pretty decent price for a video game.  Not gonna talk about the prices of old games back in the day, but $60 for a PS4 game is pretty inexpensive when you think about it.  I don't think devs and studios are asking for much.  We, the consumers have been spoiled so much, a new next gen console for half the price the previous gen console was at launch?  No increase in the price of games, $50 PS2 games to $60 PS3/360, to still $60 PS4/X1 games.

The last good launch title that I could think of was Sonic Adventure for the Dreamcast. What are these launch titles you speak of?

Bruh that dreamcast release was magical . Sonic adventure, soul caliber, nfl2k, marvel vs capcom, power stone , ready to rumble , I wanna say crazy taxi . Then the following year u got dead or alive 2 , mvc 2 , power stone 2 , street fighter alpha 3 world tour and street fighter 3. It seems like every other console realese has been a let down outside of the newness factor and the GameCube when smash brothers came out right behind it

Yeah but they are putting out gimped games . Nothing irrataes me more than dlc being announced before the game hits release date. Maps and skins cool but extra story to a single player campaign feels like I'm getting jipped . Perfect example resident evil 4 with the Ada story after you complete game and mercineries mode , I can only imagined if re4 was put out in 2008 instead of 2004 those would of been pay to play .

Whatchu buyin PS4 games for if you don't have the machine? Like I said. "Good" games is all subjective. Also, the cross generation AAA games still count.

Something tells me you would still be moaning if the system launched with Uncharted.

My brother has a ps4. Good is subjective, but whether or not a game is worth $60 is not. IMO, a $60 game should be able to give you 12 hours of entertainment(2 hr/$10).
I base this on movie ticket prices.
Your passive agressiveness tells me that your argument is faltering.

What passive aggressiveness? There is no argument. :lol The quality and value of a game is subjective. We probably don't even play the same games. What's worth $60 to me may not be to you.

This launch window has been a lot better than previous ones. FTR, not every game I've bought has been $60. Some were PS+ games that I would of never bought or played like Resogun and Outlast. Or Mercenary Kings, which I already planned on buying. Or games on sale like LEGO Marvel for half retail. I think having 4-5 retail games and another 3-4 digital games is pretty decent for the first 7 months after launch.

EA ****** up letting out that demo because they just lost $60!

Maybe it's me but the ground game is trash. I'm doing everything in the ******* tutorial and the **** ain't working!!! Yes I'm mad right now. I hate to lose. :{

Your last sentence from your previous post was passive aggressive.

The quality is subjective, however the value is not subjective(imo.)

Hence why particular games get price cuts before quality games that came out at the same time.

I offered an objective way to qualify which games are worth $60. I personally think that all CODs/sports games are worth $60, since people play them alot.

However those games' quality to me are lack luster.

I agree with the last sentence.

Also we've got microtransactions, pay-to-win, "free"-to-play "exclusive" packs, avatar merch, and season passes now.

Most of which, you'll never be able to resell. The game has to be life changing for me to pay all that $$$ to experience it on release date.
I think it was empire who said that he spent $150 on bf4.

How many times did they patch that game?

$60 is a decent price for a good game
but SOOOOOOO many games are releasing that arent innovative
that are copy and paste
that are just gloried demos and cash grabs
and that are just plainly not good
that its making the current price point seem steep
only a HANDFULL of games are actually worth that $60 price

EDIT: I can guarantee you I wasn't being passive aggressive. I truly believe what I said.

Son. :lol If the first 7-8 months were exactly the same with one difference being Uncharted at launch, would you honestly own a PS4 or be content?

I don't even know how we got here though. At first you were talking about delays and swendro made a good statement about delaying the console launch would probably end in the same result of game delays. It happens. Once these developers get a handle on the new machines, there will be less delays.

About to play that UFC demo, I hope those graphics really are as mind blowing as they were in those gifs.

Uhh... Ground Zeroes, Infamous : Second Son, Wolfenstein, Resogun, Transistor, Killzone : Shadowfall, Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition, NBA2k14.

Seems like you maybe outgrew gaming or are just nitpicking.

You named ONE decent ,full PS4 game (Infamous SS), a demo, some mediocre shooters, some PS+ games (not gonna spend $400 on a system to only play indie games, sorry) and some games that were already available for last generation.

There really isn't a reason to own a PS4 yet for me. Once the FULL Metal Gear Solid comes out I'll pick it up

I know that all consoles have had bull @#$% first year releases, but we were all told that there would be a good selection of solid releases last year. It's not a big deal, I'd rather use that $400 towards a trip anyway

That's thing with opinions, only you share them and no one else. I just gave you suggestions and you're not into them, that's cool. I'm not trying to change your mind, just offering you a different insight.

Ground Zeroes a long with Transistor are the best games I've played this year. I've put more both of them than any other $60 game I bought. Sorry you feel that way about indie games, that's where the big budget studios get there ideas and "innovation" from. They are expertly crafted and no amount of dollars that a big budget studio puts in their games could every replicate them; EX. The god awful mess that's Watch_Dogs.

I still play the games I bought lol I been playing that since I got my ps4 and I think I get my ps4 from Sony this week :)

Damn shame, aint nothing come out this year, accept yearly sports titles, FPS rehashes and Assassin Creed 17.
Destiny is coming out this year. Alien : Isolation and Dragon Age : Inquisition. All unique, excellent games that don't fall into those categories.

Watch_Dogs sold over 4 millions units during its first week

PARIS - June 3, 2014 - Today, Ubisoft[emoji]174[/emoji] announced ongoing record sales for Watch Dogs, which has sold-through more than 4 million copies in its first week, positioning it as the best-selling new IP at launch across the video game industry*. Having already broken sales records in the first 24 hours following its release, Watch Dogs is now the company's best-selling game ever in week one**.

That is impressive :eek :eek
They set a goal of 6 million and they've done 4 in one week.

Hope you guys liked it because you'll be seeing more of it
I told yall 3 weeks ago this game will have no problem selling over 6 million units, but yall still was saying different, now it's 75% of the way there and WILL get there plus more.

I'm kinda looking forward to Destiny, not really into non-Square RPGS, well Phantasy Star Online, but that's pretty much it.
