The Old PlayStation Thread | *NEW THREAD IS UP*

What else have they ruined? Battlefield 4 had/has some issues but I wouldn't say they ruined the franchise :lol

If anything I'd put the blame on EA, you know they wanted that game to rival CoD: Ghosts. That seems to be the case with Battlefront 3. I was almost certain that game wouldn't release until 2016-2017. Battlefront 3 is already doomed as far as I'm concerned.

You've always been a Battlefield apologist. SMH.

DICE also ruined Medal of Honor, which was better than Call of Duty before COD4 dropped, believe it or not.

I love Star Wars and will still keep my eye on this. But as of right now, I very much doubt I'd pick it up.

I put some time into BF4 with my bro a lot and honestly I didn't experience THAT many problems. The worst was the occasionally rubber banding :{ BFBC2 and BF3 were great. I didn't really play online MoH so I can't speak on those. I look at it like this, I had 2 great experiences and 1 mediocre expeirence. I probably won't buy Battlefront (just watched the trailer and seen what looks like jetpacs :x) but I'm hopeful that BF5 will get back on track. If not, I'll just have to avoid the FPS genre altogether which wont be a problem with all the RPG love PS4 is getting :smokin

Maybe I just had the worst experience...

- SP saves corrupted everytime; had to beat the campaign in a single sitting.

- Battlefield HUB never worked, usually froze the game.

- Hit detection was terribleuntil the 2nd or third patch

- Rubber banding lasted almost an entire year

- Continually killed by players that read 0 health

- Ammo glitching

And those are the ones I remember, and are all just technical issues. Not to mention all the things I thought were stupid design choices.

As I have said in he past, DICE chose to knowingly release a broken game, so I will knowingly always buy their games used.

I'm not even impressed by the trailer for the simple fact that it's not actual gameplay. These cinematic trailers are horrible indicators of what the game will actually look like.

I can't argue with that. I guess I had forgot about a lot of those issues :lol

I'm going to give RB6 a try and that'll most likely be my go to FPS. I know for a fact if CoD is futuristic and has exo suits etc. I will not buy it, won't even consider it this year. Battlefront is an easy pass for me, I never been into Star Wars like that.

Aside from having the same publisher, what does Hardline have to do with Battlefront?

Yeah, DICE knew it was broken, but you're foolish if you don't think EA said put it out on launch of the consoles or else.

Battlefield 4 was broke, but in many ways it was on of the most ambitious titles I can recall. Consider that They had the ps3/360 versions, bringing the 64 player version to launch of 2 new consoles, as well as the PC version. Who else has ever tried to do that? It's unheard of. It obviously failed, but it's not because DICE is some hack studio. It was just an insanely difficult task. They have a large number of great games under their belt.

DICE ruined medal of Honor? That's odd because they worked on only the MP of the MOH 2010. Everything else was from Danger Close. The first one was decent game, but the follow up was God awful. But sure, blame DICE for having to make the tacked on MP for Danger Close. (Not even sure if it was that bad or just couldn't compete with COD, which no one could do in the modern shooter genre at the time. Well, except DICE's fully developed games.)

MOH was better than COD before COD 4? No, COD 1 basically marked the decline of MOH. COD 1 was critcally acclaimed, won GOTY awards, and the series took off from there.

Except The Order: 1886.

But I'm still skeptical too. 1080p, 40 player battles at 60fps and also 2p online splitscreen.

Yea I'll believe it when I see it.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but your defense of DICE is as follows.

- EA rushed them (EVERY. SINGLE. DEVELOPER. EVER. has been rushed by a publisher)

- They only did MOH's MP and it was tacked on so it didn't matter (a developer brought on due to their apparent pedigree with online multiplayer shooters failed to make a competent MP)

- DICE was a victim of their own ambition (Okay. That's not a defensible argument of why their game was broken on a technical level. Be ambitious, but make sure your game works.)

And please elaborate on these large number of great games.

Battlefield 3, Mirror's Edge and Battlefield 1942. Maybe BF2. Four games in 23 years.

I loved BF3 and think BF4 was impressive in terms of scope when it worked. But I just don't think they are the same developer they used to be. And how they treated BF4 and it's issues means that to me, personally, they have to do alot to regain any type of optimism.

You're obviously a fan of Dice and/or Battlefield, and that's great. I'm sure if someone brought up all the issues at Square-Enix, I'd defend them as well.

How they treated BF4's issues is pathetic and it damaged their brand.

Game looks fun

Square Enix teases unannounced PS4 titles coming out this year

The following quote comes from Famitsu:
Dragon Quest Heroes II was announced pretty quickly. We thought it was an April Fools’ joke because of that.

Hashimoto: You must have been surprised! (Laughs.) We want to help spread PS4 even more. If that happens, even more games will come out, which would make me even happier. (Laughs.)

—Square Enix has a variety of PS4 titles coming out. The time to buy a PS4 is now, eh?

Hashimoto: On April 23, we have Tropico 5 (Editor’s note: they’re localizing it in Japan), then on May 14, Final Fantasy X | X-2 HD Remaster will also be released. Including ones yet to be announced, there really are a lot of titles this year, so please look forward to them!

Also, MOH being better than COD until 4 was more of a personal opinion. I played MOH on PC until I discovered COD3.

I understand COD 1, 2 and 3 may have sold better, but I think Allied Assault was the 2nd best War FPS behind COD4
