I had great memories with that system. I played online alot more in those times and didn't have to worry about allocating time to play. On the side-note, I can't believe I thought I was "doing it" with 20gb.

Is GameStop really dead? I’m mostly digital these days and haven’t been to one in years.

Saw a couple of GameStop’s today that we’re barricaded with chains and ****. Seems like they’re heading towards the same outcome as blockbuster.

They're not dying anytime soon IMO, but they're definitely declining.

They still have like 6000 stores and next gen consoles have disc drives, so it's not like physical sales/trade ins are done just yet.

If consoles ever go totally digital, then they're definitely in deep ****.

There's an ad that leaks the AC Valhalla release date, 17 November. That may be a good indicator of when PS5/XSX launches. I'd say a week before or that same week.

My prediction has always been Friday November 13th

Gamestop has been in financial trouble for years. They caught a ton of bad press recently because of them saying they were an essential business to stay open during the pandemic.

They hired :

Does anyone remember that NT’er who got a corporate job at (I think?) GameStop through connections his mom had and he quit within the first day cause he didn’t know what to do in the office?

Great memories... (Grab some snacks before reading)

I camped overnight at a 24-hr Walmart on release eve, we received numbered vouchers that night but had to stay there and maintain the queue. Was pretty cold out so the night manager let us set up chairs in the garden center after it closed around 10pm. There was only 8 vouchers available, 4 x 60GB and 4 x 20GB. It was a small group so we had a good time basking in the anticipation of the release and barely getting any rest.

The next morning we lined up at a register just for us in the garden center... the manager came out with a long face and told us he only received 1 x 60GB, 2 x 20GB units and everyone else would be called as the next shipments arrived and would be called in sequence of the queue. #2 & #3 were given the option to either cop the 2 x20GB units or wait... I was number 4 so I missed any opportunity to get a physical unit on the release day by 1 spot... I was kind of devastated along with the rest - but I would get called first for the next unit to deliver to the store. The first two in line were a married couple and while waiting in the checkout line, they mentioned that they really wanted a 2nd 60GB so I asked them if I could give them my voucher and purchase the 20GB unit. After a good bit of whispering back n' forth, they agreed, let me jump to the #2 spot in line and I left with a unit. I was ecstatic to get one but at the same time, kind of freaked out because I was spending $500 and really needed a wi-fi machine based on my set-up on our main floor of a tri-level house. I had never run a wired connection to anything as my router was in the basement of the house but again, something was better than nothing after spending the night in a wal-mart....

So... My boss' best friend/roommate worked as a manager at the biggest Best Buy in our area and had informed us that they would have a rather large shipment of 60GB units delivering the night after release (initial shipment was delayed) and they would sell when the store opened the next day. So when I got home and saw the prices PS3 were going for on eBay, I decided to list the 20GB because I really NEEDED a Wi-Fi equipped 60GB and was pretty sure I would secure one at the Best Buy drop. Tried my luck, listed it for $950 and went upstairs to take a shower.... got out of the shower and it had sold in less than 30min! Went to work, left at around 7pm, then went straight to Best Buy to get in line... was maybe number ~20. Slept in the car after hanging out with some of the other campers for most of the night, even caught some bs from someone who saw I already had a unit in the car - wtf??? Then the store opened up the next morning and I got my 60GB w/ Talledega Nights Blu-Ray plus a handful of games, movies etc. without my pockets suffering.

Good times... good times indeed.

Anyone else not find bloodborne’s combat as enjoyable after playing Sekiro?

I was up to Ludwig on my BB save and didn’t really enjoy beating him yesterday. I can still see myself enjoying Pop G though.

I feel like Bloodborne is just easy now compared to Sekiro.

Watch Dogs looks really good but it also looks like a game I won’t finish.

I won’t consider playing it untilI beat Red Dead and GTAV.
I hope Red Dead gets enhanced as well.

I’m watching this Valhalla gameplay and it just makes me wish The Witcher III would get a PS5 enhancement patch. I’ll wait for Valhalla Gold Edition to go on sale for $40 or less.
I was comparing it to the Witcher 3 in my head too.

Is the Valhalla gameplay from this gen? because it looks very impressive for a current gen game about to be cycled out.
