There were stock shortages with apparently over 90% of the initial stock gone in the first week leading to shortages and now here's the result.
Sony 1st Party First Week Sales in Japan:
Ghost of Tsushima – 212,915
Death Stranding: 186k
The Last of Us 2: 179k
Bloodborne: 150k
GT Sport: 139k
Marvel's Spider-Man: 133k
Uncharted 4: 124k
Days Gone: 114k
Horizon: 110k
Everybody's Golf: 101k
Other Samurai Games:
Sekiro: 150.721 / 267.666
Nioh 89.903 / 164.587
Nioh 2 91.892 / 156.772
Looks like this being close to TLOU2 didn't phase it at all.
Some were expecting Day's Gone reviews and low sales but it's done well critically and commercially from the reports I've seen from the UK and Japan.
Now just waiting for worldwide sales. It should easily be over a million at this point.
What a way for Sony to end this generation.
