The Old PlayStation Thread | *NEW THREAD IS UP*

Yeah but if you have a decent 4k you'll be good for awhile. Games aren't gonna be running at 120fps or 8k that soon. Assassins Creed Valhalla is 30fps on the new consoles. If you're making a long term investment go for 2.1 but I'm waiting a couple years until the content is there/the prices drop a little on those tv's.

2.1 will definitely look better than 2.0 yeah but not enough for me to make the move yet.

fact Is true 8k is almost a decade away.

Hopefully they patch in a new game + mode for ghost . I upgraded everything and ran out of enemies :smh: :smh:

yea i aint complaining since the visuals are A1 just wish the combat was better? Seems like the combat is too easy and im playing on hard, am i the only one wishing more from the combat?

mixed bag of feelings with this game

but this is my last buy on ps4 i believe nothing else on the horizon i want on the ps4 that im sure may get remastered during the lifespan of the ps5
I am playing on hard to and I wouldn’t say it is easy but it definitely isn’t hard.

Not sure if I am gonna try his new difficulty though. I really just want to enjoy the game and finish it. If there is a NG+ and it gets enhanced on PS5 I will def give it a shot though.

For me the pleasure in GoT's combat comes from the affordances of being creative and the pursuit of aesthetics.

You can kill enemies and progress without worrying about style, but when you get the combat right in this game stylistically, it's just ******* art.

Why are you so hostile famb? Who hurt you, Kaz?

I’ll say this about Sony. The PlayStation + Sony TV combo is amazing. I’m watching DVDs on the PS3 and they look better than my 4K Netflix (Using The Office as my comparison).

Watched the Blu ray of Crazy Stupid Love and it was better than my Digital copy on Movies Anywhere as well.

I don’t have an OLED either.

has nothing to do with using a sony combo

basically physical media will always be more supreme than streaming or digital copy.

I'm guessing these TV's will be $1,000+?

The X900H is not even their top of the line so I expect there to be much more affordable or mid-range 120Hz TV's next year since next gen consoles will have dropped.

We've already had 120fps games confirmed and GT7 might have it too.
I expect some indie games and PS4 games will have it too after they've been patched for the PS5.

Nothing stopping a lot of these games even PS5 ones running at 120fps after having the resolution dropped to 1080p or some other compromise.
I think if Spider-Man can run at 4K/60p then other games should have a decent chance of 1080/120p

Had to do a double take :lol

August has got to be the month we get release info, right? I feel like if we don't, these consoles may be getting delayed.

If that's true, maybe it gets announced today. I could be wrong but Sony normally announces stuff like this about a week in advance, right?

At this point I wouldn’t be surprised if they keep us waiting until October. One would think Pre-Orders would take a hit, but it might be a strategy to have people rushing to preorder.

All of us on this board have clearly seen how Nike has done this multiple times with hype and desire.

Looking much better. I'm still going to wait for PS5 for this.
Beta looks meaty.

I don't think they will delay it. No one wants to go first. MS also have an event for August planned too so it has to be next month.

We'll have to get OS features, teardown and price next month. i don't think they can extend it any longer.

Rumor: PS5 UI May Be Shown Soon to Avoid Leaks From PS5 Dev Kit ‘Retail Mode’ Update
PS5-UI.png

The PS5 is (probably) less than four months away, and with Sony’s path to release more or less clear, we’re all eagerly awaiting new information about the console. One new rumor indicates we may be getting a look at the PS5 user interface (UI) within the next few weeks. Industry insider Tidux says that Sony will soon issue a PS5 dev kit update that will allow developers to enable “retail mode” on the consoles, essentially allowing them to see how the game will look and interact with the final retail setup of the next-gen console. He expects Sony to show off the PS5 UI before that update happens to get out ahead of any potential leaks stemming from devs having access to retail mode.
