For those who want shooters the rumors for Sony Studios are:

Sony San Diego is working on SOCOM. They've expanded to 2 teams now. One for MLB and one for SOCOM.






Guerrilla is working on a FPS:

Some Secret unannounced studio in San Diego is also working on a title which is apparently Uncharted.
The collaboration highlighted is probably with Naughty Dog.

All makes sense to me as Multiplayer games is an area Sony needs to work on.

I'm hoping we see new IP's instead of Uncharted and Killzone though. Those IP's have 6 and 5 games a piece so it's time for them to retire.

Bro same. I got on and tried to go in, but I hated it. The randoms were killing me for no reason. And I tried to do the story mode. But then kept getting linked with bums that just wanted to play grab *** and bs. Or I'd link with some dope teammates that would bounce after one mission. I'm constantly seeing new updates and packages dropped in commercials that sound fire to me. But the added aspect of having to play in the same world with all of those clowns made it weak sauce. I'm bummed Im missing those fire stories and missions tho

You gotta find friends that still play.

What has me worried about GTA6 is that people have left like Lazlow is gone due to some personal things happening and did one of the story writers/owners leave?

I'm hyped.

Resistive triggers sounds like a perfect match for ABS and just braking in general.
This is probably going to be the best pad for driving games if you can't get a wheel.


There's other ways of using the triggers and haptics in that link but its sounding like the real deal.

Vita had the my fav launch lineup.

Marvel 3, Uncharted, Rayman Origins, Virtua Tennis and Wipeout at launch. Good times.

I would say 2 since Guerilla have been big for a while now. We might see more than 2 games from them next gen though.

San Diego moved into a new bigger office last year for their expansion so they will hopefully expand from just churning out The Show



The other San Diego working on Uncharted apparently will mean ND can focus on other things which is also good and more games overall.

Technically yes, but these teams inside studios tend to shift back and forth. If you look at Square-Enix or Naughty Dog, to me it appears that they have separate teams, but that a project may pull in resources from other teams. It sounded like it was all hands on deck for TLOU2, while we heard specifically that SE brought in anyone in their Japanese development circle to work on FF7 Remake. It could go the EA route where they open a new studio/team, let them work for 3 years and can the game because it doesnt fit the current market conditions. Or open a new team to shutter another.

So for the new teams at Sony San Diego and Guerrilla, I really just see them shortening the development cycles for each studio so they can get games out faster. It seems more about managing more resources effectively. If you have a sound engineer for example, it doesnt really matter if its a baseball game or a shooter, they can work on both. But some roles would have them focused on one game the entire development cycle. The added benefit of these separate teams is not getting the burnout you would see working on one franchise for 10 years, and the ability to diversify your studio's portfolio.

With the exception being the new studio working on ND... but even that studio is pulling resources from Naughty Dog.

Very much speculation.

Some more rumors, though, to feed the fire

• Apparently Visual Arts is working on the motion capture
• It's being developed by Sony's second San Diego team (Not Guerrilla)
• Sony Japan is working on the network infrastructure
• Bluepoint Games is supporting on some level
• Visual fidelity is next-level
• "Return to form" for SOCOM, as a flagship multiplayer franchise for Sony.

This was the 4Chan leak that came out.

The S in Sure and the O in or are capitalised. Add that to the COM in gamescom and you got SOCOM.

This leak was before we knew Spider-Man was going to be in Avengers and he was right about that.

Add that to the other leaks and rumors and it sounds like something is happening.

The only thing unbelievable in that leak is the hardware revision/upgrade. Even with Sony getting good yields, I can't see a spec bump at this stage.
