The Old PlayStation Thread | *NEW THREAD IS UP*

hotline miami is hard as hell.
can't even beat the first level.:{

:lol

I can't remember the first level off the top of my head, but if there are doors, try to bust them open on enemies when they're in front of them. You probably only have melee weapons in the first level too, so either incapacitate dudes when you catch them alone or kill one person in the open and draw everyone towards you back into a small room one by one.

Played to the last level of Hotline Miami on the vita last night. Game is great, but that handheld isn't ergonomic at all, hands were cramped by the end of the session. There's a handgrip available. I might get one this weekend, or ask Santa for it this Christmas

Lol same thing happened when I first started playing. I don't get it anymore guess my hand muscles got used to it. Can't wait for Hotline Miami 2, might get this Spelunky game next.

Got killzone and cod still unopened definitely exchanging cod for FIFA. Only had time for 2K while doing my final projects before graduation.

thanks for the tips

For Hotline Miami, if there are 2 to 3 people in a room, i lock onto one dude, knock one over with the door, throw weapon at the one i'm locked on, then knock out the other one.  Gotta be quick and finish the doorman and other dude you threw weapon at.

Won't lie, i switched to the Vita YouTube app and looked at how to pass this one part.

So glad I don't have NBA anymore :lol. FIFA Ultimate team :hat

Anyone have Injustice?

I haven't even seen Injustice in the stores nor heard anyone talking about it :{

I beat the story mode on xbox360 a few months back tho. it was chill.

I'm hoping a new Street Fighter comes out by end of 2015. Don't think I can get into Injustice though.
Unfortunately I read that SF V won't be out until 2018 at the earliest

Something to do with funding. I seriously doubt it'll take that long, we got SF IV, 3-4 years into the life cycle of PS3/360. I at least hope that we can get a port of Ultra SF IV for the PS4.

I haven't played Tekken since the PSOne days. SF x Tekken wasn't too bad, a lil slower than SF IV. My biggest complaint, although you have two fighters, if one dies then the round ends, even if your second fighter has full health

I think you should have had the option to fight 1v1

wow... that's a huge turnoff. MvC2 was my favorite fighting game of all time tho.

What happened to tekken x street fighter smh

they developers also said they were taking their time with it so that both versions didn't release to close together.

I feel like killzone has just been a chore now Haha Just wanna finish it so I can trade it in for call of duty .

Games visuals are great and gameplay is not as bad as people say it is , it's really cool how they were
Able to use all the next gen tools (touch pad , speakers , graphics etc.. ) it seems like they focused in that area over gameplay .

I'm in chapter 8 don't know how much of the game is left . The online is terrible for this game and I don't see a replay value in the campaign except for that little orbiter that follows you but that can get stale really fast

One question I have is why wouldn't the helghast people be so mad after the vektans blew up their planet haha

Killzone is Sony's flagship franchise so it's supposed to show off the capabilities or whatever. Like for Killzone 3, they had it so you could use the Move accessory along with the gun accessory for the campaign. Killzone 2 was supposed to display the visual capabilities for the PS3 (they even hyped doctored footage as in-game footage).

Aggregate Data On PS4 Internet Usage

Abstract
The purpose of this experiment was to determine how much bandwidth the PS4 uses during online gameplay. The games used for this experiment were Battlefield 4, Killzone: Shadow Fall, and FIFA 14. Data was also collected for Twitch streaming.

Method
All devices connected to the router were in sleep mode or powered down in order to isolate data usage from the PS4. Results were collected using the router’s built-in traffic monitor through a web browser. The computer and the PS4 were connected via Ethernet to the router. Data collection began after the map had been loaded and the gameplay was underway.

Data
Figure 1 Baseline Internet traffic test with no devices using the Internet and the PS4 turned off
Figure 2 Speedtest.net results from computer
Figure 2a Speed test results from PS4
Figure 3 shows a ten-minute snapshot of the bandwidth used by the PS4 during a game of Battlefield 4. The game type was Conquest on Zavod 311 and contained between 64-66 players during the time the data was collected.
Figure 4 shows a ten-minute snapshot of the bandwidth used by the PS4 during a game of Killzone: Shadow Fall. The game type was 24-player death match on The Slums. The game contained 24 active players during the time the data was collected.
Figure 5 shows a ten-minute snapshot of the bandwidth used by the PS4 during an online match of FIFA 14. An opponent was found online using the Seasons online game mode. The match was between PSG and Manchester City.
Figure 6 Shows the bandwidth used while streaming live gameplay to Twitch. The broadcast quality was set to Best. The stream did not include video from the PS Camera or audio from a microphone. The stream was of a Battlefield 4 game of Conquest with 64 players on the map Operation Locker.

Analysis
Killzone: Shadow Fall consumed the most amount of data during a ten-minute interval (32.42MB). Battlefield 4 came in second (10.48MB), and FIFA 14 consumed the least (4.45MB). Streaming to Twitch consumed about 130.23MB of data in a ten-minute interval. This was calculated by subtracting the total upload bandwidth from Figure 3 from Figure 6 in order to estimate the data usage by streaming alone. Streaming to Twitch used approximately 2.66 Mbps at its peak while playing Battlefield 4, therefore having an upload bandwidth of 3 Mbps should suffice for streaming and playing online. For Killzone: Shadow Fall and possibly other, more bandwidth consuming games, an upload speed of at least 5 Mbps is recommended.

Extrapolated Data Usage over 1-hour:
Killzone: Shadow Fall – 194.52MB
Battlefield 4 – 66.88MB
FIFA 14 – 26.7MB
Streaming via Twitch (Best quality) – 781.38MB (Estimated Upload bandwidth ONLY)

Conclusion
Although the bandwidth used between the three games varied, the PS4 generally uses very little bandwidth when playing online. This should help people that have a monthly bandwidth limit or are worried that their Internet speed is not adequate to game online.
