Is eBay the best place to get an OG controller and A/V cables?

Not unless you have a retro gaming store in your area. We have one here at one of our malls, I have been meaning to go in and just buy up the whole store. LOL. They also do skate stuff so I assume that is the bread and butter keeping the lights on.

Are you planning to mod that N64 in some way?

Na, I buy most of my stuff from the flea market, so they are pretty dirty sometimes, I take them apart to give the shells a wash, removable plastic parts and clean the contacts and dirt n gunk out of places, basically refurbish it

Nothing like giving those cartridges an alcohol bath.

theres this app called mercari, I'm telling you guys you will find deals there for retro games or gaming stuff in general. they give you money for signing up too

I like it for buying...I sell on there as well but I'm on my final warning I get reported for beating other people prices shipped or not accepting someone's cheap *** offer

u kno what never failed to make an NES cartridge play? game genie

Fozz Fozz and isco isco , I agree that eBay is the best place for OG gaming accessories.

However if you manage to find the original 1st party accessories to a retro console at a retro gaming store at a price that matches eBay's or less, you go for it. Lately more and more "mom & pop" retro gaming stores are opening for business out around the world, and there is surely going to be some stores that have the original 1st party OG controllers of retro consoles.

Has anyone bought any retro games from GameStop? they sometimes have flash sales or buy 2 get 1 more a couple times a month

I never buy retro stuff from Gamestop, that is the only thing I don't get from those guys. The SNES Classic that I preordered from them yesterday (and the NES Classic from their ThinkGeek bundles) don't count to me.

If there is one thing I know when it comes to retro anything from Gamestop, it isn't "quality tested" for resale. Yeah they'll quality-test a retro game or retro console for a trade-in at a Gamestop store, but when they refurbish it for sale to the consumers........HELL NO, it's utter garbage.

At least with the "mom & pop" retro gaming stores, I know the owners of those stores are die-hard gamers that will take loving care of the retro games that they are trying to sell off/trade off to the general public SINCE those stores would expect the same in return for the games they are receiving from customers from a trade-in. Hell, these same retro gaming stores actually teach their customers how to take care of their retro consoles/retro gaming cartridges free of charge if there is any issue with them not working. I don't expect that from a Gamestop employee at all

going to the thrift shop after work..maybe I'll find an SNES there

Good luck......with thrift and pawn shops, the oldest retro console I've been able to find so far has been a Gamecube. You may be able to find a few SNES game cartridges there, but an actual SNES console is like finding a needle in a haystack in those stores.

You must not have a retro gaming store near your area, I'm guessing?

You got the good thrift stores...........I live on the Southeast Side of Houston, and its utter ******** down here.

I've heard from a few homies that live on the Westside of Houston that they got ******* steals over there, but the pawn stores on that side of town has way too many hypebeasts for my liking.....which means they'll easily find the steal before I do.

Since I'm headed out to SoCal, maybe I'll find some retro games at the big flea markets out there.

Only this past yr I started going to thrift shops like crazy..prior to that was years before I stepped foot in one..and I never liked flea markets before and now I love them

I'm on the west side. Haven't noticed that much hype but I'm not on the hunt very often though.
