The RETRO Gaming Thread!

Can’t say I remember this one. But for a game from the mid 80s it looks pretty good.

So Renegade came out first then Technos dropped Double Dragon.

If ya looking at top brawlers it's like Kung Fu, Renegade, Double Dragon, Final Fight, Streets of Rage 2, Guardian Heroes, SoR 4, etc. There's probably others after Kung Fu.

I copped Double Dragon Gaiden on STEAM. I'm not a fan of the art style but the game play seems solid.
While on the subject of Beat "em Ups.

I have never seen the Arcade version of Ninja Gaiden IRL. So different than the NES version.

The arcade version came out before the NES version. It was definitely a brawler (like above). Most notable was the weird flip attack.

The NES version was more Castlevania influenced. Much better. The arcade version never had sequels. It's "major" home adaption was on Lynx lol.

went to this local mom and pop shop at Spadina that sells retro gaming items. there were a bunch of them and could only take a few pictures before I got distracted on looking for a few things for my own. there were old consoles, games and memorabilias. unfortunately some of the newer items were retail though. went to a few more shops and my son got a few figures which were japan exclusives that he got below retail and half price off.

sneeker sneeker Shelves full of NES, Atari and a Colecovision games? bro, that’s like candy to me. I love it😍😍😍😍😍
it was indeed look like a candy store. I think there were 4-6 shelves of goodies and 2 glass shelves of the more rare and expensive stuff. we didn't have much time though since we went out late so I missed out browsing more stuff. also, we went back home 2 nights ago. fortunately I checked that they have an online store so I might be able to snag a few more items and I guess shipping won't be that expensive. here is their website if you are interested....

Was cool to play various Atari games on the PS2 when this came out. (Especially Kaboom, for me, my personal favorite), but nothing compares to playing Kaboom with the “knob” that you would use for the Atari. Never had an Atari system, unfortunately. But this was still fun
