The Tesla Motors Appreciation Thread

it is their budget model but I do like the very clean interior, just nice and simple
Oh don't get me wrong, I love minimalist design, I'm just worried about how I'd respond to no instrument panel while I'm driving  The interior as a whole is nice, very clean and understated, and I like.

I was responding more with the big Ipad-Pro-like touchscreen, they had to invest less money integrating it because of the vehicles price-point.

But yah that HUD, I am not really sure how well it works especially in different angles when the sun is out, I could see it being a problem.

Plenty hates it but I actually like how Mazda does their HUDs and I think it makes it easier to read even if it is by itself:

Not bad. Only HUD I've experienced was in an Audi, and that was easy to see and read, even during a bright day. They also had an instrument cluster to rely on though.

I can vouch for the Cadillac on this.

HUD will be far advanced on the Teslas

The final product isn't out for another year

I am not sure I'll ever be able to completely trust AutoPilot, I have a feeling I'd just be freaking out and nervous the whole ride.

Not completely Teslas fault as the yellow road line that the car follows goes through the barrier but that also seems like something the car should be able to detect/avoid too.

u can see da car was following da lines along da lanes, and even turned towards da yellow median to stay within da lines...no kinda common sense

I hope there were signs or cones indicating the lane was being closed.

Wtf is that. That's abrupt as ****.

its not as abrupt if you watch the whole vid in the link (can't embed), you could see the white line on the right going to towards the right while the car wanted to follow the yellow line on the left which turned into some white dots that the car didn't notice.

not really talking about the tesla in particular, just in general. even watching that video it seems theres like little warning that lane was ending

thats probably one of the most aggressive shifts ive seen

Elon Musk and Tesla Give Us Our First Look at the Model Y

“It would have been better to just design an SUV the way an SUV should be designed. Design a sedan, the way a sedan should be designed. Otherwise, you would just try to shoehorn something that doesn’t make sense,” said Musk at the annual Tesla shareholders meeting in reference to using the Model S platform as the base for the Model X. The move is also expected to reduce expenses between the Model 3 and Model Y by a factor of two.

Tesla Model 3’s First Buyers Will Only Get To Choose Exterior Color And Wheel Size

Speaking to investors on Tuesday, Elon Musk said that early buyers will get to choose the exterior color and the wheel size and that’s it, as part of the company’s policy to let them quickly ramp up the production of the Model 3.

"You just need to decide what color you want and what size wheels, at least for the initial production," Musk said at an annual shareholder meeting in Silicon Valley, as reported by Reuters.

Tesla has received hundreds of thousands refundable deposits from potential customers for the Model 3, with Musk saying that buyers will get to configure their cars starting next month.

More choices will become available, Musk added, without saying when. The first examples of the Model 3 will come with two-wheel drive only, with Tesla likely adding an all-wheel drive option early next year.

Tesla revealed earlier that the Model 3 will offer a driving range of 215+ miles, a 0-60mph in 5.6 seconds and fewer than 100 configurations for customers to build their cars.

After my current lease is up, I'm definitely interested in having a Tesla as my next ride. My job having a charging station is great as well. Wish the next model wasn't a mini van tho.

Yeah, I'm patiently waiting for the used (CPO?) Model S prices to drop  :nerd:.

My lease ends next Fall. If there was any chance of me being able to get one by the end of 2018 I'd definitely sign drop the deposit but there's no way
