Unexpected expenses.. :{

This

checked my email and "time to register you automobile" $104 to re-register my motorcycle. Did not see that coming.

Also getting my car to the shop on Thursday for some suspension issues....fingers crossed its not too bad. I know they will be like oh you need new struts $800.
I'm getting my struts replaced this weekend. $400 total. Gotta befriend a local mechanic man, my dad taught me that and my current mechanic is his old one.

Check out rock auto for parts though.

I actually found some good struts on rock auto when i was looking into the problem myself. I was thinking if they tell me its the struts ill just do it myself but seems a little complicated. I have done rotors and brakes before so im some what ok with car maintenance. But $400 for both is a steal id take that for sure.

Paying to fix automobile/motorcycle problems.. :{

Money pits. You really got to like them man. My bike has been nothing but a money pit and for the use i get out of it, probably not worth it. But its a way me and my pops bond. ride together some weekends so for that sake i guess its worth keeping around just trying not to invest too much into it

Rear struts or front?

Rear struts are relatively easy

Something like struts is something I would never trust myself with. If it could potentially ruin the whole car, I'm not trying to fix it myself. Shout out to you though car maintenence is a good skill I know people who can't even change a tire

I feel it . hell sometimes myself I need that piece of mind and I'll take it to a pro.

I feel every man should know how to take car of the basics even if he's not willing to do it himself.

Its the front struts.

Since i live in the city its usually hard to get the time and space to do the maintenance. But ain't nothing better some times then waking up saturday morning with nothing to do and taking 3 or so hours to do car work.

Since i work a desk job i relish those type of manual labor rewards. Like when you put it all back together take the car off the jack and drive away realizing it was your doing :smokin. And at the end of the day its just nuts and bolts. I give mechanics their props but for me 90% of it is having the right tools. The rest nowadays is youtube-able. But if you don't have the right tools you can make a job 100000x harder. In which case better to take it in

"Let me remind you that in the west, not doing good deeds is seen as the mark of a barbarian and will get you shunned in polite society. In essence, avoiding a good deed where possible is seen as disrupting the benevolent harmony of society. On the other hand, doing too much is gauche. It is correct to hold the door open if someone is carrying boxes. On the other hand, if you had boxes which you knew that you would not be able to carry in without help, you should have brought help. If you could have, with some trouble, carried them in, but when you arrive someone happens to be around to help you, then everything is working harmoniously. Good deeds should not be assumed, they should be opportune. "

My high school had an automotive program and during senior year one kid in the program got a flat tire driving home. He still called his dad for help changing the tire.
