I ask because as soon as a job fired me, BOOM i quickly filed for unemployment

That $450 a week for me was heaven, but then realized i got too dependent on it

But on the bright side i had lots of free time to go and travel and see the world a little bit

Thanks for the input. I just need to stop stressing. Not the end of the world..

There's really no shame in it. Just grew up with the "work mentality". Both parents worked two jobs to make ends meet. I guess I just took after them. Pretty much have worked full time since I was 16. The thought of not having a job is new.

same here, work is good. but there is a balance. free time to yourself is highly valuable. that is something i learned after having to work all the time. i feel like being laid off a job/being fired is an opportunity to free yourself from the restrictions that are intertwined when working. now you have time for yourself. enjoy, go travel and learn new horizons.
