With that being said, will we be able to discuss the TAN fantasy Bball leauge here??

i bet this is what was reported .... us discussing fantasy basketball...... well prbly cuz its a TAN league the lawrys

So every thread should have its own fantasy sports leagues?  By that logic, there should be fantasy sports discussion in the Walking Dead thread, or the "team Roshe" thread.  Or hey, why not have a special NBA fantasy league for baseball fans, and talk about that in the MLB thread?  

There are huge threads to discuss fantasy sports.  

It's like Internet agoraphobia in here sometimes...

not dry snitching but cmon were not discussing the nba we are discussing the TAN league IN the TAN thread & that prbly doenst go on for more than a 1/4 pg

I dont think thats what he meant, but since we do have one...... can we at least talk about whats going on with OUR league. I'm not saying details on players or discussing the actual NBA itself- but as far as our league goes (maybe a little trade talk and a few stats and records every now and again). Is this going to be an issue? If the team Roshe guys had a league, i would expect them to talk about it- not necessarily discussion about the actual NBA, but their league

No.  If you want to have a fantasy league, that's great; just post a link to the APPROPRIATE topic in the S&T forum to discuss it and take all further discussion of the league THERE.  

We're not going to allow fantasy sports discussion in the walking dead thread, in the ios thread for mac fans, in the team roshe thread, in the amfam thread, etc. etc. etc.

You guys aren't chained to this thread.  If you're all friends, great.  You can follow/subscribe to each other.  You can send each other PMs.  You can converse together in OTHER THREADS.  

The logic seems to be "well, I want to talk about basketball... but I want to talk about it with my TAN friends.  Therefore, I'm going to post about it in the thread about nothing."  That's not acceptable.  The same logic could be applied to any other thread with disastrous results.  Forum structure and topic divisions exist for a reason.  NikeTalk is a single, cohesive community.  Each thread isn't its own little usenet group or micro-community, where anything can be discussed at any time.  Discussions within threads should be pertinent to that specific topic.  

It's been that way for nearly 13 years and it's part of what distinguishes a FORUM site from a chat room or Twitter.  It's actually navigable and it reduces the entry barrier for people looking to jump in to a conversation based on interest.

Every thread - yes, even this most special of extra-super-special threads - must operate within the rules.
