The only time I remember video chatting with him was when I received a random phone call from a friend I had not spoken to in about a year. I was caught off guard and had to end the call quick because I was in the middle of putting my son to sleep.Seems like you are leaving out some key chunks of the story. There has to be some backstory/history that made him assume whatever he aasumed.
I asked his brother what he could've been upset about and he was informed that my cousin was offended by my joke about asking if they were having a 'deadlifting bibles workout session' (both health/fitness freaks and attended the same church). That comes to a surprise because I've always been known to be sarcastic in my humor and our mutual friend is just the same. And if he was offended by that joke, it would shock me.
And the thing is, there isn't a backstory. I do know that he is overly sensitive and overthinks a lot of things, which he then believes without hearing the truth.
I brought it up with all our cousins and they were all shocked that out of all of us, they'd least expect him to have an issue with me because I've always been the one to keep things cool between everyone.
I've said my peace and the ball is now in his court. Whether he chooses to reach out or not, i'll be here.
