I just remembered this after posting about Adidas squandering their opportunity to lure LeBron James in 2003 because they presented him with a cheap offer.

After recalling these facts, perhaps James wouldn't have signed with Adidas even if they matched what Nike offered him because Nike basically had a head start in swaying him before he turned professional despite Sonny Vaccaro mentioning he was impressed with their pitch.

Nike gave his friend and eventual business partner, Maverick Carter, a job. I forgot what kind of job. But I know it wasn't a menial job.

Nike also had Michael Jordan stay in contact with James while he was in high school. James had his personal number as well. They might as well use their legendarily profitable cornerstone to lure a projected commercial commodity since it was convenient and smart.

Things like that can easily sway a coveted future basketball superstar in addition to a lot of money.

I don't think Benzino will like this anniversary today.

Speaking of Benzino, the guy is just a perennial screw up in business and life.

It's hard to fathom how he made many mistakes despite being in the rap game for a long time and had major backing, The Source specifically. He really squandered his major opportunity when he was a co-owner. Instead of getting support and collaborations with other artists for his projects by smartly using The Source to entice them with covers, articles about them or promotion for their projects, he had questionable or detrimental conduct during his ownership.

He had questionable or corrupt input in the album ratings. It was exposed that a phantom writer who didn't exist gave his Made Men group album a 4.5 rating in 1999. It was documented that he pressured writers to lower ratings on some albums, especially if he had issues with an artist.

But we all know his biggest mistake of his career was going at Eminem out of envy. He really tried to use The Source to destroy him. Eminem was the wrong one because he had major backing with The Machine (Interscope Records) & Jimmy Iovine. He really failed trying to sabotage Eminem's career with leaking an old recording of him rapping a racial slur in 2004. Eminem was safe at that point because he already had a massive fan base consisting of all races along with accumulating major units with his albums. It's not like Dr. Dre & 50 Cent were going to turn on him because of that. And it's not like Interscope Records & Iovine would drop him.

He has issues with his somewhat ascending musician daughter, Coi Leray.

Now he has a warrant on him.

Was just at Home Depot, looking at some portable cordless vacuums. Suddenly saw a rat/mouse shoot out from underneath the rack/bay I was at over to the next one. Those suckers are fast.

I've always wondered, why do people go to home depot instead of Lowes?
