In any NYC deli sometimes if im short on a single item (not a whole damn slew or order of things
) ill just say I got you next time boss and they let you slide. Even if they dont let you slide you slide anyways. Usually do this to delis I frequent and usually get em back eventually.
But to answer your question depends if its a mom and pop type store or a big chain store. Dont want your register short even a few cents unless you have change in your pocket to make it up later.
