the thread about nothing...

Today there was a discussion at work, during our lunch break, about mass school shootings in the US and the wild solutions gun nuts suggest. Training teachers in armed combat, bulletproof glass in schools etc.

Out of nowhere, my boss jokes “I have a solution, how about shoot all the kids and just have the population die out.”

Someone quickly replied “that’s a bit uh, radical, wouldn’t that also just be temporary? They can have more kids”

Boss replies “well shoot the kids again then
That's just ignorant af on your boss's part. There is absolutely nothing funny about innocent people being shot & killed especially children who never got a chance at life.

Your boss sounds like an idiot to me. You should tell your boss to go ask those parents who are currently burying their child & find the humor in this tragedy. Ask em what's funny about sending your child to school alive only to findout they were killed & are now in a bodybag

Yeah that was a wild statement, especially doubling down on it. Everyone seemed a bit taken aback. I’ve only been working there since late April but definitely didn’t expect a remark like that.

sneeker sneeker over 2 cents.....crazy. **** that place and I’m glad you never gave them anymore business.

That's some next level stupidity on that workers part. I wouldn't have given the bag back, just a casual f you & have a nice day & be on my merry way WITH the unpaid 2 cents bag. I don't get why some retail workers be ready to get so crazy working a minimum wage job, ish is sad. I used to work retail & give discounts to customers I liked 🤣. When ny brother would come in I'd ring him up & junk food & snacks that should've totalled around $20-$30 I'd ring em up for like 2 bucks  . **** retail man
I know it's insane. it was the first time I ever saw such behavior that got me wondering "WTF?". these were plastic bags man, that stores would normally provide free of charge.

not funny at all.

a person with a sense of humanity wouldn't joke about such tragedy. I'm expecting a statement like that from the NRA or GOP since they are monsters, but coming from an ordinary citizen, it's mortifying.

Not even just fast food a bunch of retail workers too. I don't get why someone would be willing to jeopardizw & lay down their lives for a minimum wage job. I used to have co-workers chase dudes out the store for shoplifting. I used to tell em that's an excellent way to get yourself killed.

The managers would always try to tell me to keep an eye on sus customers & to follow em out the store, I told em straight up I'm not L.P. or Security & I am not risking my life chasing a thief. Get all the way the **** up outta here with that 🐂💩
I believe we were on that phase when we were new and young. I remember when I started working and would give my all for the job. a veteran co-worker told me that my first priority is to keep myself safe and out of harm's way since we won't be compensated for our good deeds. the next thing you know, you can hurt yourself permanently or get fired without a sense of guilt from the employer. nowadays, I play politics.

Other driver told the police I ran the red light according to the accident report. 😕

I hope I didn’t, but it happened so fast.

From what I remember, I had right of way.
Head up dawg. Wishing you a speedy recovery. And invest in a dash cam.

My job involves a lot of driving so I'm actually in the process of trying to sell my boss on equipping out vehicles with dash cams to avoid **** just like this.

Its actually wild that we dont have them. I dunno...maybe I've been on R/Idiotsincars too much.

I'm really not trying to judge anybody...but Kim Kardashian's kids will have to go through life with friends who know their mom was trying to **** someone because of their "BDE" while working on her marriage to their dad.

How that's better than the sextape, I am not sure. They basically imply the same damn thing.

People will be people at the end of the day 🤷‍♂️

They lost you as a customer & your business so their loss, **** em.

Some people have a disgusting & criminal sense of humor

That's great advice from the vet. Yup 💯 it's the young & new phase so we got taken advantage of, no one there to coach us beforehand. Give your life for an employer & all you get is a boquet on your casket & ty & with the quickness you're replaced- f that.

HOW TF DOES AN INSURANCE COMPANY FIND YOU AT FAULT WHEN THEY DIDNT EVEN READ THE POLICE REPORT. ON TOP OF THAT THEY SAID THEY WERENT EVEN ALLOWED TO REQUEST IT. BUT SUDDENLY WHEN I START FIGHTING BACK THEY CAN REQUEST IT. INSURANCE IS A BLOODCLAAT SCAM!

That's exactly what insurance companies are. If you are going to dispute and they are unwilling, do it public, they hate that kind of publicity so they will eventually budge.

Found out my homie is on house arrest. He hit a car then drove off but a cop saw and chased him. He tried to evade the cop but ended up getting locked up for a week and now on house arrest for 3 months

the reason everyone should get dash cams..
I’m pretty confident I had right of way but this is just going to complicate things a bit.

I got a ticket for it too smh.

Not sure what step to take next because I was surely hoping insurance would take care of most of not all of my surgery cost.
