Went into Columbia on Saturday and the christmas music was on. I enjoy Christmas music but even I was like "too soon".
It's commercialized, so they are going hard with it now. I saw Christmas decorations in several store fronts over the weekend.

I get that “Put yourself out there!” is supposed to help, but people looking for this answer have probably read that thousands of times now. And the fact that over 100k people liked that tweet shows how huge of a problem this is for young adults. Some of my coworkers have also expressed the sentiment that it’s extremely difficult to make friends as an adult. Not having the safety net of school to socialize is a big problem once people graduate.

Join organizations. Putting yourself out there isn't really a good answer cause people will always act funny, so the best bet is to find group activities. Join a class, some team sporting activity and volunteer.

Yeah the main thing people are looking for is HOW to put yourself out there. One of the women in the replies said she met a guy who brought her to a party like most people are gonna be in that situation  So sometimes you have to consider who is saying the advice. Your mutual friend network can help too. It definitely helped me during my college years.

Yeah, people have to learn to give advice and distinguish what is advice vs empty chatter. I also believe this generation is much more self centered, so even when you enter certain "friend groups" it isn't what it's cracked up to be.

Someone say something postive about halloween ends
I'm thankful that it ended.

You're not gonna make a "friend" that you giggle and shoot the **** with like in your childhood, so people need to stop thinking that way.

If you're unable to build new relationships as an adult, it's because you're either a **** person or a weirdo... with all due respect.

anyone from houston?

thinking of spending some more time there for business
got some questions

is uber fine to get around?
where are the best areas to stay (hotel, airbnb) as far as accessibility to the city?
best mall(s)?
best area(s) for vintage?
how "cold" we talking in the winter? (i used to live in ft worth, but houston i think is better in winter?)

If one more musician says "I signed a bad contract" I'm gonna stop caring. Seems to me the FIRST thing an artist would do when presented with paperwork is say they need to have someone look it over. "Welcome to the music business" is cliche at this point.

The industry targets people they can manipulate.

There's a sucker born everyday.

A lot of “new friends” you make when youre older are just acquaintances. Shordi who commented its easy for her prolly has a very loose definition of a “friend”. Guarantee those friends arent gonna be friends a year later.
