I'm in the same boat, I love seeing everyone's great high end pieces, but I'm not there just yet. I'm happy right now with my old Citizen Eco Chronograph and my Seiko 009

My next watch purchase will probably be a pilot's watch.. either Steinhart, Laco, or Hamilton. I love that style and want to add it to the collection.

to be honest, the only high(er) end(ish) watch i really want is the Seamster bc of DC wearing them in the Bond movies

Yep. That Seamaster he wore in Spectre was :smokin

Hopefully I can pick up some higher-end models in the future. Not in too much of a hurry, though. Still looking for that elusive white-faced chronograph that has at least a 40mm case width. Already have silver-dial and black-dial timepieces (albeit not chronographs); have to change things up a bit.

40mm. White dial. Chronograph. Not that elusive lol

...that doesn't cost as much as that :lol

EDIT: Was just thinking of something more inexpensive for daily use to swap out with my Hamilton Ventura XXL

Maybe the Junghans Max Bill Chronoscope (not available over here, though). Might pick it up later in the year if it looks great in person and wears well

Speaking of the Hamilton... just had it regulated the other day, as it was running rather slow (about 4 years old at this point). The rubber strap isn't that presentable these days, either. Since it had angled lugs, you can't really get aftermarket straps for them. So I went and picked up a NATO strap. Not perfect, but it works well. Solved the crown digging into the back of the hand issue as well.

Peasant alert coming through but...

Looking at a Seiko SKX0009 divers watch, silver with black/red dial. Its $200 on Amazon but before the trigger finger gets happy, anyone have any other recommendations?

Seiko Monster, Orient Mako/Ray. $200 seems like it's street price, find it around $150, especially since the bracelet is trash

The Seiko 009 is blue/red, not black. The pictures online might make it seem black, but it's a dark blue. I love the color combo, though. I was deciding between that of the 007 (the black) but I opted for the blue/red because it stands out a little

I have the exact same one. It's a great watch, often recommended as a great budget/starter diver's watch, it's hard to beat the price and quality.

I bought the same one but from Rakuten because I found it for cheaper there, I think I paid like 160. I'd say maybe check out this one instead Amazon product ASIN B002FNNFAW same model but it's a re-import from Japan, save a few bucks.

200 seems a little high for it, so maybe check around other sites and see if you can find it cheaper. And you can put that savings towards getting some NATO straps. I've bought from http://natostrapco.com/ and http://crownandbuckle.com/ and it is a cheap/fast way to change up the look of the watch.

Another thing I might recommend, you could get the rubber strapped version and then buy a new bracelet. One of the complaints is the jubilee bracelet that comes with the one you posted is pretty cheap. I bought mine with that same bracelet and hoped "Oh, maybe it's not too bad" and pretty much hated it. It felt really flimsy and cheap so I mainly wear it on a NATO but I also bought a super oyster bracelet and it upgrades the look and feel of the watch A LOT

Amazon product ASIN B00C58S82W
It's not essential, of course, and some like the stock bracelet, but just be aware when you get it, you have a lot of options. I love wearing mine on a NATO and it's comfortable, plus I have the option of the nicer bracelet.

Not my pick but how it looks with a very similar NATO..

Either way, it's a good choice.

This is why I love NT. If I could rep you 10x I would fam.

The stock band is that bad? Its coming in on Wednesday, I do like the jubilee style band though. Is that one you posted the exact fit for this watch?

Yeah, it's a fit for that watch and I prefer it to the stock jubilee. It's heavier and feels more solid, but like I said.. some might prefer the jubilee so see how it feels and looks. If you like it, then that's all that matters.

The 009/007 jubilee is one of the worst bracelets I ever owned, second to the vostok bracelets. Plus the jubilee bracelet is the only bracelet, I could not re-size myself. I wouldn't pay more than $150 for the watch considering you are basically buying the watch head. SHould be around $125-150 on the used market, tons of them on watchrecon. Only thing I do not like about the watch is that it does not handwind.
