ouch. How good of a deal was it?
With tax it would've been about $10,200. The guy pulled out a stainless piece. I told him that's not the one on chrono24 and he realized he messed up and that the watch I wanted was just sold maybe a week or two ago before Christmas.

That would have been a great deal especially if it was a brand new DJ 2. If you see one available that is brand new, under $12k you just have to go and buy it because brand new ones are becoming more rare.

Don't wait too long and end up with a DJ 2 that's been over polished with messed up rounded off fluted bezel.

looks like this is number 200 tho

Any of ya’ll have trouble setting the time on some of your watches?

The skydweller is hella complicated so I just bring it to the store to have it set again.

He did you a favour. Friends don't let friends buy two-tone Datejusts.

I gotta have it brand new with precious metal to justify the cost in my head, and full gold (brand new) is too much for most people period, let alone most people of the age range on this site.

was about 6 months of owning the watch I got off fleabay before I realized that all you've gotta do to change the date on an ETA 2824 movement is pull the crown out but not all the way & turn it counter clockwise. sounds simple enough but changing the date by moving the time on the watch forward 24 hours each time gets really tiring without any special tools if you don't wear the watch everyday/keep it in a winder. gets really bad when you've got to change move the date forward moar than 1 or 2 (changing the 3rd to, say the 15th was pretty brutal). I always thought that moving crown counter clockwise was bad for the movement but well those short youtube videos that ppl make about stuff they own are useful since that's how I ultimately learned. getting an older Rolex day date to be accurate looks very annoying:

keep in mind that this is after you've been running the watch through 24 hours to change the day of the week
