It's amazing to see the difference between the play of La Liga & the Prem. It's like seeing sunlight after days of dark skies...

It's not even just La Liga. The Italian league, Portuguese league, German league are way different.. England plays like they're stuck on an island (which they are) and never learned any better. There's just no ball control and fluidity. I wanted to smack my television set watching the way Man United plays there "system". It's so desperate and ugly.

Higuian just sealed the deal for Napoli vs Milan with a great goal and Balotelli just missed his first ever penalty :wow:

Glad Southern Italian teams are finally sticking it to the Northerners.

United doesn't have a system.

Moyes is just throwing out the most experienced 11 players and hoping that individual brilliance saves him.

Agreed, that's why I never got into Premier League teams. I can see them getting better though since they're basically buying every good player from Spain not on Barca or Madrid

Haven't United been one of league leaders is crossing the ball for years tho? It dipped down when Ronaldo was there, but that's been the system right?

I'll agree with Moyes tho, I thought United needed to go outside the box and hire someone different since football has changed so much. Not a phony Sir Alex.

Sunderland just confirmed they sacked di Canio. What a disaster that was.

RDM... :nerd:

PSV 4-0 over Ajax. Light work.

Keep clowning my wallpaper request, Coupe.

Watched the game, they got rolled on. Was hoping for something more entertaining.

Well at least Arsenal has been known for their attractive style of play :D

Really don't understand how Kagawa isn't getting any time.

PSG vs Monaco, I think most people had the newly promoted side losing but it was a good result for them

Indeed, United have always been a crossing team.

But when you have the likes of Beckam, Giggs, Cantona and Scholes supplying those crosses, and folks like Van Nistelrooy, Cole, York to finish them off, there's a system in place.

When you have Ashley Young coming down the wing, who is unbelievably scared to actually go at a defender, and the worlds most one dimensional footed player, Valencia coming down the other wing, it's just not the same system.

That old crossing game, works well when you have long-ball specialists, United only has Rooney as the closest thing to one, because Valencia is too predictable, and Nani is simply too inconsistent.

But even when played at it's best, it can be dismantled by quality defences. We need to learn to control possession with the ball on the ground and in the air. You could see SAF tried to get it going at one point.

Istanbul Derby Between Besiktas and Galatasaray Abandoned After Fans Invade Pitch In Injury Time Posted on September 22, 2013 by Christopher Harris Share0 Tweet0 0 Reddit0 The Istanbul derby between Besiktas and Galatasaray was abandoned Sunday after Besiktas fans invaded the pitch in the 92nd minute with their team losing 2-1 to Galatasaray. Dozens of Besiktas fans ran on the pitch and began throwing chairs at the Atatürk Olympic Stadium. The referee stopped the match and sent the two teams to the locker room. The referee then made the decision to abandon the match. According to the Hurriyet Daily News, “A scuffle broke out between supporters and security personnel after Galatasaray’s midfielder, Felipe Melo, was booked with a red card in the 92nd minute. Police fired tear gas to disperse the supporters on the field.” The match between Besiktas and Galatasaray had gotten off to a good start, with a record Turkish attendance of 76,127. Besiktas plays its derby games at the Turkish national stadium, Atatürk Olympic Stadium, although away supporters are not allowed to attend derby matches. Galatasaray were in front in the game 2-1 after two goals by Didier Drogba. The Turkish Football Federation will now have to decide what will happen regarding the match — whether they’ll force a replay, fine Besiktas for failing to control their fans, or award a victory to Galatasaray. Here’s the video showing the scenes in Istanbul that led to the match being abandoned:

Glad to see that rat b*****d sacked. Never understood why he was able to get the job & why the uproar wasn't sustained. di canio has a very elaborate tattoo celebrating his fascist beliefs. For those that don't know, that's an "imperial" eagle holding what's called fasces which were mussolini era symbols of fascism. Under the eagle is the image marauding mussolini in a military/ss like helmet. The imperial eagle was later adopted by the nazi party. That t-shirt he's wearing in the pic below is a mussolini quote.

i had absolutely no idea . here i was lamenting him losing his job since i found him a rather entertaining individual. good riddance to this prick.

What a derby. When Yaya wants to play....he is absolutely fantastic. His physical presence, vision, spacing, tackling....just such a complete player. Negrado impressed me as well with his ability to be a true CF at times. Bodying Vidic and getting that cross in for aguero's second goal. Aguero obviously looked great as well.

Paulinho :x :x such a great finish

Baines free kicks were a thing of beauty but that second one..... goalie just looked at it like please don't go in

Lets not go comparing facism and nazism in the same sentence now tho. Plus he's throwing the thousands of years old Roman salute (he's Roman), not the "nazi" salute.

Di Caneo has fascist nationalistic political beliefs, that has nothing to do with Nazism. The word Facism in this country has been thrown into the propaganda bucket of "evil" words like communism, socialism, etc. Di Caneo is not the bad guy people portray him to be. Yes he's a stubborn man who runs his team with an iron fist, because that's the way he thinks he can inspire players. - It didn't work, so he got fired. But he's not evil.

Wuh? di caneo is a staunch supporter of mussolini's doctrine, hence the big a** tattoo on his back. mussolini's speech in 1921 said, "...Fascism was born... out of a profound, perennial need of this our Aryan and Mediterranean race..." He went on to note how concerned he was about the lower birth rates of ayrans & mediterraneans compared to that of Africans & Asians. He went on to denounce Russia & it's Jews & Jewish bankers around the world. You couldn't be more wrong about what you said. Your understanding of history is woefully incorrect. I find it interesting how you spun that info... I could go on but I digress as this is a footy thread.

In actual footy discussion, apparently Cules are upset over Rayo having more possession during the match. That's why I hate sports fans/supporters. That stat doesn't mean squat, especially since Tata's side won 4- nil. Barca dominated possession in the CL matches with Bayern earlier this year & what did that matter? :smh:

Yeah, I honestly hate watching the PL style of play. And I watch it alot due to it being the most competitive.

La Liga and Serie a are by far the best styles. I can watch teams like soceidad and Roma/napoli play all day. Cant say the same about any PL squad.
