The Ultimate Football Thread 2013-2014 Vol. 4 EPL, La Liga, Bundesliga, Serie A etc

In hindsight, the most disappointing thing for me is that Nick Powell is on loan. I would like to have seen him in that Scholes role in games like this....
yep.. crazy zaha can't even see playing time in capital 1 cup.. smh

I've given up even looking for logic. Willy Z isn't perfect, he's still a bit raw, but he's tricky and can be creative. I'm a flat squad and a game like this, he should b getting full 90s.

Sadly years from now, when Januzaj is a superstar, Moyes will be claiming 'I gave him his chance' as if it was astute vision and not desperation.

Tremendous save by DDG... how Larsson was wide-open is another matter.

EDIT ~ Wow... PK... but that was weak.

Of course Moyes will blame being screwed by the penalty... but other than that, they played well

Hmmm... Where have I read his script before?

Same ol tactics all game long. Going down a goal. No real creativity. But will wait to bring on a young sub, and hope for individual brilliance to cover managerial weaknesses.

These days I don't even need to watch United anymore to know what will happen.

In fact, after every United match, I don't even need to type up anything...just use a post from last week's game ^^^

I'm very sure that I'll hear the words "Well yeah  I think we played well, we just couldn't finish, the final 3rd was a problem" in the post match interview.

I know it's stating the obvious, but MU has to make some moves. The shock and humor of Moyes losing is starting to tire and as a neutral isn't worth seeing anymore. If they finish with no silverware and in Europa league it'll feel like something is missing from club football.

This is just laughable at this point....

@RobHarris: Moyes: "We are having to play the opposition & the officials at this moment..maybe I've got to understand that's what happens at Man United"

@ManUtd: Moyes continues: “But I’m determined to put it right and I’m sure we will. I sense that [determination] in the dressing room as well.” #mufc

@OliverKayTimes: #SAFC 2 #MUFC 1. Summary of Moyes press conf: Sunderland shouldn't have had FK or pen; United luck is about to turn; performance fine.

 what!?!!!??!!

do you get fined for comments like that in soccer?
yes

Missed the last portion of the Valencia vs Atleti match... Had to walk my dog (in frigid *** temps) & start dinner. Watched the scores off my DVR. 1-1 tie with goals by Atleti's Garcia in the 72nd min & then Valencia's Postiga tied it up in extra time...

Looks like La Pulga is back & been cleared to play tomorrow against Getafe... :smokin Hope he's as ready as he sounds. Barca needs him against Atleti this weekend & the rest of this campaign...

I can save Walcott's World Cup dream! Surgeon claims he can get Arsenal frontman back playing in four months
By SAMI MOKBEL

A Scottish surgeon claims he can save Theo Walcott’s World Cup with a pioneering piece of equipment.
Professor Gordon Mackay, who used to work for Rangers, says he can get the England forward back playing in as little as four months.
Arsenal ruled Walcott out for the rest of the season and Brazil 2014 after he ruptured the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee against Tottenham on Saturday. But Mackay predicts that by using an internal brace, Walcott could run again in as little as 12 weeks.

The procedure would involve a device being inserted into Walcott’s knee, which Mackay says would instantly stabilise the joint and allow the forward to begin his rehabilitation sooner. This would allow the ruptured ligament to re-attach itself naturally to the bone and Walcott could progressively increase his workload.
Walcott is due to have surgery in the next two weeks to repair the damage.
Mackay, who has helped numerous sportspeople with this alternative technique, will contact Arsenal on Wednesday.

He helped British bobsleigher John Jackson recover from a ruptured achilles tendon in July. He was back in a bobsled by October with the use of an internal brace.
Mackay said: ‘Arsenal will have their plans in place for Theo Walcott’s recovery and these are always sensitive issues. But we would like to inform the club of this different approach.’
