It'd be dumb to sell him outright, the transfer funds would only go to the debt

Do a trade with RM with a key piece being Benzema

Reading that !@!% morning hurt me, but !!%@ it if you don't want to be here then dip out. Good Riddance Rooney

Milan are just too old and too slow for a side like Real Madrid. La Liga is all about quick one-touch passing and you cant afford to over dribble and attack at a snails pace against a Jose Mourinho coached team. Milan made some good buys in Ibra, Robinho, Prince-Boateng, etc but they still need better players all over the pitch. As skilled as Ronaldinho still is, the guy is not gonna win Milan any trophies any time soon. I think they'd be better off letting him leave in the summer and paying a better player the wages that Ronaldinho is making right now.

Real Madrid remain extremely wasteful and its pretty ridiculous how many chances Higuain, Di Maria and Ronaldo miss each match for them. I can definitely see Mourinho signing another striker in January or in the summer because Real can not afford to have Higuain score just 1 goal for every 5 chances he gets.

As for Rooney, I'm shocked at whats transpired. After Ronaldo was sold Rooney became the face of that team and it looked like he could carry that team on his shoulders but just months later and he is demanding to be sold. I think Ferguson is going to win the PR battle here by coming out and saying that he wants Rooney to stay but Rooney is adamant about leaving. Man Utd fans obviously do not want to see their best player leave (and especially when the club is short on funds) but at the same time they will probably side with Ferguson on this one. If he stays in England only Chelsea and Man City can afford his wages and if he goes abroad I can see Mourinho bringing him in since Mourinho loves versatile hustle players like Rooney.

Typical Arsenal...beat up on weak clubs at home but then fold like a deck of cards when the games actually matter. Lets see them play this well on Sunday @ City. Good to see Fabregas is back.

Rooney could quit for £5m under Webster ruling

Wayne Rooney could terminate his contract at Manchester United for around £5 million next summer if he chooses to buy out the final year under the 'Webster Ruling'.

Article 17 of FIFA's transfer rules dictate that a player who signed a contract before the age of 28 can buy himself out three years after the deal was signed, if he pays his final year's salary and a small compensation fee.

Rooney last put pen to paper in November 2006, when he agreed a contract extension to keep him at Old Trafford until the summer of 2012, and The Independent has revealed that the striker's ability to use the ruling has been confirmed by the Spain-based law firm Ruiz Huerta y Crespo, who have been involved in every major Article 17 case to date.

Former Scotland international Andy Webster set the precedent when he moved from Hearts to Wigan in 2006, and FIFA's decision has now seen the rule used by Tony Sylva and Jonas Gutierrez since.

The ruling only needs 15 days' notice in writing to come into force and could force Manchester United to sell Rooney in the January transfer window, where they would be able to get something close to his full valuation.
