he's not a bad on ball defender when he wants to be. he just doesn't spend enough energy on that end to be better. ends up reaching instead of sliding, and off ball he tends to watch sometimes. he's not nearly the meme on defense that he used to be in the early rockets years.

We're the Lakers. Where the most criticized and watched team in the league. Unless you're undefeated and dominating every opponent, there will always be stats to point to that will show flaws. First it was the soft schedule, now it's the record vs. teams above .500.

if we were undefeated against teams above .500, The narrative would be "why can't the Lakers beat the teams that supposed to beat?"

He's still prone to horrific mental mistakes at the worst possible time which is why I can never really consider him a good defender. Cost them big time in games 5 and 6 last playoffs. And he will never close out on a shooter, ever

They did a great job keep harden below 30pts. But it seems like refs swung that game into rockets favor. Hope the NBA investigate that ref who ejected Lou Williams, that was all ball. Never usally see him get that mad.
