Lame *** soft champagne “look who my white friends are” rap is terrible too but I wouldn’t judge Jay-Z’s career on that just because it’s what he makes now that he’s washed up.

I wouldn't say I'm adamant about it, I've just always had to "defend it" from an early age and to everyone.
I only listen to rap music, I pretty much don't care for any other genre of music. Its always been met with opposition especially since I entered Corporate America. I haven't hidden this opinion at either of the two firms I worked at and don't plan on it either. What for?
In relation to the specificity of that rap, eh. I dont so much defend it anymore, moreso explain the broader rationale and leave it at that. Music is too opinionated for that kind of thing.

I’d say that reflexively rejecting all categories of
music except one without any willingness to even try it is a pretty adamant stance. But I guess that’s semantics. It’s also mind boggling to me since I like music from a bunch of genres - rock, rap, R&B, classical, pop, EDM, jazz, etc.
But I’m not going to say your doing anything wrong because your taste is your taste.
