Kerr took the Carlisle pill and wants to leave flailing in 2019

Agreed.

Oan

There's a big different between catching the ball with 15 feet between you and the basket and catching the ball with 1 or 2 feet in the paint. If kp started out with better positioning and didn't settle for fade away jumpshots, he'd be much better in the post. No reason to not get a great shot off if you're 7'3 with a 6'9 or smaller player guarding you.

It's not about the play having no value, it's about not teaching it the right way to begin with.

And so much other good things happen from just throwing the ball in. Gsw won multiple titles throwing the ball in the post and having klay/durant/curry screen for each other

no matter who it is, you're not gonna have much success 15 feet away from the hoop settling for fadeaways
The last thing you want is MORE spacing on the floor when you’re playing LeBron or Kawhi. Porzingis is several inches over 7 feet. He can’t let teams stick guards on him.

On December 31, no less @nickmaz96

This is their 4th game in 6 days. This was probably identified as a load management night before the season began.

Haven't heard Chris Paul in any All Star discussion but as of now he probably deserves it over the other 2 Thunder guards. Just looked at their numbers, didn't realize how similar they looked

You can't look at a player and say 'oh he's 7'3, he should be posting up'

It's not about the height of the player, it's about how good the player is, at posting up

That's why in my other post I said it depends on the player

For posting up, I'd say the ability to handle physicality > height. Porzingis was not made for the post.

As addict4sneakers addict4sneakers pointed out, the most effective post-up players have strength. It’s actually even more important than height. That’s the problem for KP.

Nah. It's not ok for a guy who can dunk without jumping to not be able to play close to the basket. He has to figure it out

He just doesn't have it

To put it simply he is just too soft

The mavericks would just be wasting time trying to make him a low post player. You either got it or you don't.

Right. And that's not ok.
But I never said it was ok. It's just the reality. He is what he is.

And I feel you on the contract. I personally would've never signed him for that much money 🤷‍♂️ I'm not into tall, finesse players. It's like they have the worst of both worlds. They lack the mobility of the shorter players. But they lack the physicality to play to their height.

I would never try to build around KP

Quality win over Denver
Harden :pimp: 35&6
Westbrook had a rough lil stretch in the 3rd but played a great game. 28&7 on 50%FG :pimp:
Big Clint with 16&10
Former G League finals mvp Hartenstein finally getting added to the rotation. No more Gary Clark at the 5 foolishness :pimp:
EG welcome back
About to hit the streets, happy New Years NT
Health and wealth for 2020

KP actually showed plenty of post up moves when he was on the Knicks, especially his first couple seasons. I’m surprised that people are saying it’s impossible for him.

Was he efficient from there? Probably not, but he didn’t look lost there.

The vid cited that he was like 16th or something in efficiency for guys who posted up a certain number of times (also that was the year where he got hurt so that sample size was perhaps a bit inconclusive)

The narrative on him coming in was that he would get shut down by guards, particularly Marcus Smart. So idk
