Thus he flops more and gets more free throws flailing his legs

He would flail his legs less and flop less if he didn’t have the benefit of those pads.

Players like dwade in the past drive hard to the rim and draw fouls, they would drive to the rim less without the pads and fall after attackind the rim.

Russell Westbrook would attack the rim less ferociously if he didn’t have padding

I wouldn't have a problem with this. He's basically been a top 2 player for his country for 20 years and has gold and bronze medals at the Olympics. Solid 10 year NBA career.

No issue with it whatsoever.
