Yes, if....KCP and Caruso for Morris?
1. Pelinka already knows Collison is coming. Hence why he rejected Rose for Caruso. Doing this, also drives up Caruso's trade value.
2. Knowing Collison is signing with Lakers, Pelinka then uses Caruso to get his man Morris.
3. Essentially, Lakers sacrifice a young asset and sacrifice a shooter to get Morris and Collison.
**if NY will take Rondo, I'd replace Caruso with Rondo and ship KCP and Rondo instead

I can see this side of the coin as well.
But here's what I'm thinking....
Cook and Daniels are supposedly 3pt shooters deluxe. But they been riding the pine all year thus affecting their efficiency and percentages due to lack of continuity.
But there's gotta be a reason we signed them right? Other than use them as trade bait, but who wants them?
Imo, Cook and Daniel's are here for insurance just in case we have to let a dude like KCP go in order to improve the squad in positions we're lacking, like backup SF.

If Collison, a PG and playmaker, has already told Bron he's coming, then no need for Rose, who plays the same position as Collison.
Caruso is then moved in order for LAL to fill their other dire need - wing defender 3&D specialist

As much as Lakers fans love him, I can see this happening especially if Pelinka has decided to keep Kuz.
Caruso is the only other true asset the Lakers have to trade if they want to improve their wing depth.

I'm against this, this is a lateral move at best & it could weaken our team next year also. Morris is basically a little more consistent Kuzma, & he's a real black hole. He is a clear upgrade on defense but he ain't exactly a stopper.
and again considering our lack of young talent and assets going forward i'm not willing to throw in THT.
We've seen this story too may times of Laker picks being shipped out and becoming really good young pieces.
When it's to get Lebron or AD, sure **** them kids. when it's thrown in for one year rentals of aging role players, Nah i'm done with that.

am i being told that the lakers rejected a trade sending alex caruso and a 2nd round pick for derrick rose because they think darren collison, who retired from the nba to become a latter day saint, is going to come in and seamlessly fill their void at point guard? and then because they think they can use alex caruso to get a quality wing player?

I guess....... but again i'm not big on Morris at all and KCP has been our third most consistent starter and has been playing his role perfectly. Caruso is also a good fit for this team and does great defending guards
