Fam nobody is downplaying anything, but Jerry west hasn't officially held the title of GM since 2007 .

He's joined teams in "executive" roles as a liason, but he hasn't been the dominate voice or mind in basketball decisions in awhile & somehow people have given him credit for the Warriors dynasty & now giving him credit for turning the Clippers around, despite him not having that much of a prominent role.

Idc what role you give him. Let him take a consultant role for the Knicks. 4 years later, the Knicks would be much much better than they were when he was hired. Period.

Does he deserve all the credit? No, and he never did. But his influence is undeniable.

If I was motivated, I could comb thru threads and find tons of comments downplaying Jerry West.

Didn't think the Lakers had a chance to beat the Clippers in the playoffs anyways, but they done done now.

Same dude that had the Celtics getting AD while keeping Kyrie. Same dude that has the Rockets as the 2nd best team in the West.

And one of the coolest things about him is that he doesn’t ask for or take credit. Every interview I heard him do after we got PG and Kawhi, he said he didn’t really do anything; just went to a few meetings. Gave all the credit to Larry Frank and Ballmer. Same deal when he was with the Warriors.

I think it was enough actually, but Danny goofed not going for it. Kawhi probably would have walked like he did with Toronto though. Championship would have been worth it however, but maybe he didn't think we had enough. Which is probably true because Kyrie likely would have made Kawhi even sadder than he looks.

trust me dude lakers fans know Jerry west is that dude since shaq and Kobe. We’re all pretty salty that he won’t come back home since there’s beef between him and the Buss family. he’s an awesome executive and a good guy.

but like if you’re Lawrence frank and no one even knows you’re PBO of the team that’s gotta sting lol.

I even had him as my executive of the year for the predictions thread. I think I was the only one
