that's highly unlikely. a team that isn't a contender isn't giving away what little assets it has to acquire Harden. If anything, a team on the cusp that already has surrounding pieces would make the all in move for him. Miami, Toronto, Boston, Philly, Denver all make sense imo.

I think a team like Detroit would be thrilled to build around harden, win 50 games and be a 2nd round exit for 3 years. Definitely can't see Toronto or Boston trading for him. Miami and Denver maaayybe. Simmons for harden makes more sense for Philly than Houston

It's not even hate. There's not a lot of teams that make sense for harden. You'd have to change your whole DNA to accommodate his style. He wouldn't be a seamless fit on any of the top teams. You're overstating his value

yeah except the rockets aren't taking back broken down blake griffin. the pistons don't have anything valuable to the rockets and don't have any sort of foundation. it doesn't make sense to trade away the picks it would need to do a deal like that.
the raptors, celtics, nuggets, and sixers all have salary pieces they could move to make it work, plus whatever draft assets to make it equitable.

Nuggets: Murray, Porter Jr + any non-Jokic piece + all the picks
Clippers: any non-Kawhi piece
Jazz: i would trade a package revolving around Donovan Mitchell in 0.5 seconds
Thunder: he wouldn’t want to go here but they have all the picks available.
mavs: don’t have the assets but any non-Luka/KP piece would go
Grizz: I would trade Brooks, Clarke and all the picks for Harden
Blazers: any non-Dame asset is gone
Spurs: you can have the entire team
Pelicans: everybody except Zion
Kings: entire team would get traded

Blake's contract is a year shorter than Harden's. A guy like kennard would be a better off ball fit next to Russ and they'd get Detroit's pick plus a stretch big like Morris and whatever's left of Blake. Then they could trade maybe Gordon/tucker plus their own pick and Detroit's for more pieces.
Raptors are the defending champs and setup nicely for years, harden doesn't make sense or fit the culture. Same thing with Boston. Denver I could see trading Murray/Harris, that would make some sense for both teams. Simmons/Harden doesn't make sense for Philly and Westbrook/Simmons doesn't make sense for Houston so I don't see a deal there

The only teams that would trade for Harden are the teams with owners that are either desperate for any playoff basketball or are chasing attendance.
