I've said for years that they need to come up with a Best Player award, because people constantly confuse MVP with best player.

Leading another player in a ton of stats definitely has something to do with theVPbaward and it very well should, but who has been more valuable to the league? If you took one player away, how much of an impact would it have compared to another player? The one who would have the least impact on being taken away, that guy is not the most valuable player in the league.

Can't speak for everyone, but my hope with the Mook acquisition as a Laker fan was that he was going to take away shots from Kawhi, PG, Trezz. The same goes for Reggie Jackson taking shots from Lou, although that seems to have helped the Clips.

Bruh you know we ALL saw the same game right? We all heard constant Lebron MVP chants, We all heard the crowd going crazy for the Lakers to close the game... That was regular season.

A lot of the writers & reporters in the building said it was atleast 60/40 Lakers, Now think playoffs after the Lakers haven't been in Seasons, then add in Kobe's passing this year......

If there was ever a hostile playoff situation to come into it will be the Lakers this year, unfortunately for the Clips they gotta play every game there to advance.

no point in debating because i wasnt there...i have a friend that went to both games (a lakers fan) and he stated it was 30-40% lakers fans at the most. i trust his word more than i trust some biased lakers news media. on tv it looked as though there were concentrated pockets of fans but still a majority clippers crowd.

if the clippers, as you say, have to play every game on the road...using this season as a barometer, they are doing pretty well. IMO

I do think that they need to add an "offensive player of the year award" though.
They have one exclusively for defense, whereas the MVP needs to consider both offense and defense. Plus record, and all kinds of other criteria that seems to change on a yearly basis. Whereas defensive player of the year is just that, the defensive player of the year.

Come to think of it, offensive player of the year would've fit perfectly for all the in retrospect controversial MVP awards throughout the years: Westbrook, Rose, Steve Nash and Curry's 1st MVP.

The season series between the Bucks and Lakers is 1-1 and LeBron played like trash the first game. That game the other night was meaningless in the MVP race. LeBron is averaging the least points since his rookie season right now while playing with the best or second best player of his career who’s actually averaging more PPG than him while also being a DPOY candidate. Giannis is averaging 30-14-6 and the frontrunner for DPOY playing on a team that may win 70 games while their second best player is Khris Middleton. This is pretty simple if you aren’t a Laker/LeBron fan or you aren’t a daily First Take/Undisputed watcher.

The Lakers don’t have to rely on AB as the 3rd option. They have a different cast of players that can be that person every game. Today Danny Green didn’t hit ****. That’s not gunna happen going forward.

KCP/Green/AB can all provide the scoring if they are hot. It’s not like they’re gunna be taking contested shots since Lebron or AD will be getting all the attention.
