Since Rodman is that dude nowadays..quick Rodman excerpt...

“So I start playing, right, we won 10 games in a row,” Rodman said. “Ten games in a row when I got there, right? I said, ‘Jerry, I gotta take a break.’ One reason: Shaq and Kobe. I couldn’t deal with those [expletives]. I’m not going to lie to you: I couldn’t deal with them. I’m like, ‘Oh my God, I’m not used to this,’ right? I’m used to winning, but I can’t deal with these [expletives expletive-ing] every [expletive] game. Like, [expletive]. I mean, every, I’m like, [expletive], we’re winning, what? So I go and I say … ‘I’m so used to having calm and serenity and stuff like that.’”

Rodman said that Buss asked Rodman if he wanted to go somewhere, and he responded, “Yeah, I gotta get the [expletive] out of here.” The two of them then, according to Rodman, went to Las Vegas, where Buss gave him $200,000 to gamble beside him at the MGM.

“I lost $50,000 like in two minutes,” Rodman said. “I swear to God, I swear to god. I was like, ‘I can’t do this, man.’”

Most of the story checks out. After Rodman signed with the team in February 1999, Los Angeles did go on a 10-game winning streak, though Rodman didn’t play in the first game. He then missed three games and went to Vegas.

How many people remember this Rodman?

That season was wild from what I remember as a kid. Rambis had no control over the team after taking over for Del Harris

The NBA probably needs to settle on a location soon and fly players/staff out in a few weeks if they want to re-start the season by mid-June. Let them self-quarantine for two weeks, then practice another two to three weeks.

I think that would mean scrapping the regular season and maybe just do exhibition games for the top eight seeds of each conference before the playoffs.

They have to at least even out the amount of regular season games played for all teams. The teams that have played the most games are the Mavericks and the Hawks with 67. The rest should at least play until they get to 67 regular season games. But I think that they should play 70 games, because that way all teams get 3 games before the playoffs.

Who is going to play in these regular season games? Just the playoff teams or all 30? If the latter, what is the point of GSW, Minnesota, Cleveland, Atlanta, Phoenix, etc. training and more importantly risking their health to come back for a few meaningless games then fly back home? Either way, whether you normalize all 30 franchises or just the playoff teams to the same amount of games it would require a new schedule which some could argue creates inequities in the final records that would be used to seed teams. IMO, the current standings based on win percentage as of March 11th seem like the most fair and accurate way to seed teams given everything that has happened.

Didn't know they were working on a redeem team doc :pimp: :pimp:

Can't wait to see more behind the scenes footage of that group, aleady got some classic footage out there

IDK to me that team isn't that interesting. They had a bad roster that played bad, and didn't win. Then they went back to having a great roster and won like they're expected to.

I dunno man, having some of the best of the post-MJ era on the same squad in their primes made for some of the most fun ball I've seen.

Having the likes of CP, Dwight, Kobe, Wade and Bron stunting on everyone at the same time was so :pimp: :pimp:

The footage of Lebron imitating Kobe and Phil and Kobe laughing is one of my all time favorite moments

RIP Bean

The gold medal game was in the balance. I’d enjoy watching unseen behind the scenes footage of that game

Not to mention all of those guys were entering their primes and Kobe was also still at his peak and hungry after losing to Boston in the finals. The interactions of all those greats is must watch for me

Don’t forget about Carmelo. He was just as impactful as anyone

Then you had kidd mentoring the point guards. I want to see all of that

Apparently they need to hit 70 games as a cutoff for all of the regional sports deals.
