Heard him on First Take this morning...It sounded like ESPN/SAS threw him a bone and gave him a platform to campaign about his impact of GSW, how he wants to come back and that he'll be back if it's in God's plan.

His impact on Golden State was the owner and GM realized they could get way more out of what they had. I still regret not dropping a ton of dough on a futures bet for the Warriors when Kerr took over. They were a 50+ win team that should have won 60+. Jackson is a a fraud. He didn't recognize his own talent. Watching the Warriors his last season was so frustrating.

You mean a place regarded as a center for a specified group, activity, or interest? Yes, we know what it means.

Clearly don't. A lot of y'all struggle with what exactly encompasses NYC as the basketball Mecca. MSG in particular

It damn sure has nothing to do with the NYC area having the most talent or producing the most or best NBA players

Interesting. Then I concede the “Mecca” title to NYC in perpetuity.

I've always understood it as MSG specifically being the "Mecca".

I was doing some research and that does seem to be where it came from originally. I got the impression that New Yorkers felt it was more broad than that, but I might have been misinterpreting.

Birthplace of Kareem and Mike. Nuff said.

Surprised they touched on Gantt but didn’t address Hodges. At that point its a glaring omission tbh

But I also didn’t expect Gantt to be brought up either so

Hodges has NOT ever held his tongue tho so I get it since MJ was the exec producer of this.

Sonny Vaccaro was missing too, but also I get it

I was listening to the 2002 episode again today, and forgot about the part where Stern walked to the podium and said that when Chuck and Kenny entered the league, "they couldn't speak English, either", in reference to them talking about Yao and other foreigners who couldn't speak English. Just cold blooded lol
