For some reason I thought the Lakers were going to have some cap space this summer, but guys like KCP and AB have player options that I assume they'll exercise. Rondo does too.
Kudos to them for putting things together quicker than I think most thought they would, myself included.

Soon as the Lakers paired LeBron James with Anthony Davis it was kinda foolish to think they wouldn't compete for a championship. And to double down on that take more than halfway thru the season is downright silly.

Lakers are a good team. They stayed completely healthy and didn't really load manage, which I think most thought they would in the regular season. Unfortunately for them, they just aren't better than the team down the hall, that obviously plays in the same conference.
Similar to the Rockets of the past couple years, who would've had a better chance of beating the team they'd see in the finals than they would with the Warriors.

I asked this question during the season and heard crickets. What team had ever won a chip with a brand new #1 and #2 that combined to miss more than half the season? Yall laughed but I was right about Morris not fitting in and his number's falling off. Since the summer I said that LAC would have a better shot next season with a year of experience under their belt. It's not an 'I hate the clippers' thing, I'm just going off precedent
