Has there ever been a team that meets this very specific criteria? I don't know who to compare them to.
That's kinda the point. You can break it down even further and just say what team has ever won in its first year with a brand new #1 and #2? What team has ever won with its #1 and #2, brand new or not, both missing a huge chunk of the season? It's also kinda rare for a team to win a chip after adding a 30+ mpg starter halfway thru the season. These kinda things just don't happen. So to act like a team like that is the hands down favorite over a team that's been better than them by almost every measure in the regular season and is littered with championship experience comes off more like an 'I hate the Lakers' thing more than an objective take based on reality and history.

Only reason I don’t have the Lakers in the finals is because I can’t think of the last team to sign a 4-time MVP, then the following year acquire a new #2 via trading multiple starting players, and signing a new coach and go on to win a championship that second year. Just can’t get around that.

Funny enough, that's the reason I thought the bucks would give the Lakers a hard time in the finals. They're more experienced as a unit.

Good news, ya'll: company furloughed a bunch of people today, but not me. Thus, I won't have three months of spare time to day drink and fire off hot NBA takes on here all day long.

So NBA coming back?

If there's no concrete plan by the beginning of June, I think it's a lost cause. With a plan to do some sort of playoffs by late June/early July, it could work. But, they'd have to shorten the early rounds. I could see best of 5 first and second rounds, and 7-game series the last two rounds. The regular season is toast. Have some one-game playoffs for lower seeds to appease some owners, if you want. Have the 7th - 10th seeds play one game playoffs to get in. But, you could get to a conference finals in four week, especially considering no travel days are needed if it's a single-site playoffs.

Let's use July 1st as an arbitrary start date:

July 1st (Wednesday): play-in games
July 5th (Sunday): first round, five games, games every other day, four games per day, staggered (last possible end date is the 14th)
Two-day break
July 17th (Friday): second round, five games, two games per day (last possible end date is the 26th)

That gives you a month for the conference finals and finals, allowing for some extra days between games, and can easily end before Labor Day.

You can’t blow a 99.1......?

What a ******* joke  that’s not even a fever

How dare they be concerned about a player's temperature!

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention considers a reading of 100.4 degrees Fahrenheit a fever. While an actual temperature reading is the best diagnostic tool for fevers, the CDC also says it considers a fever to be present when a person feels hot to the touch, has previously reported feeling feverish (possibly with chills), or looks flushed or glassy-eyed.

Straight from the CDC themselves. Some people run hot and blow a 99.1 often. This is complete garbage.

Yo, I will never understand people’s discomfort with seemingly being overly cautious. Especially with something that we continue to watch evolve as a threat to us all.

Relax.

I pray this isn’t your own gluttonous sense of entitlement to entertainment and sports. Go pick up a hobby. If people/corporations choose to take extra steps to ensure safety I don’t see why it’s a problem unless someone is only thinking of themselves and what they want.

99.1 is cutting it real close, I woudnt even consider that a fever for myself under normal circumstances...which we are def not in

Cancel the seasonman, smartest thing they can do. No one wants a ring with an asterisk.

Sixers might be a problem and they've benefited from this rest as much as any other team. Seems like it was always either Embiid or Simmons that was injured for them. Or both. This might give them the opportunity to finally be at full strength. The same goes for The Mavericks and them missing Doncic and Porzingis.
