Simmons and Rusillo broke this down pretty well on Sunday night's pod. Think they landed on him being in the 37ish range. Based it off of Harden's performance last year where you'd have to put up 25ish shots per game while also getting to the line in double digits. The How many pts would Jordan avg in today's game is dumb as hell lmaoo but **** it.
I've settled on this: If James Harden, who literally plays in a system that supercharges stats, who literally takes 13(!) 3's and 12 FTA's per, and didn't come close to 40,
If Kobe in 06 who played 42 minutes a night, took 7 3's and 10 FTA's a night and didn't come close to 40,
then hypothetically speaking, Jordan averaging 40 or more is insane
To average 45 a game, for every "bad game" where you "only" dropped 30, you'd have to make up for it with 60. It just isn't realistic.
