It's probably just that I don't want it to be true. I think I just want it to be that James was somehow ignorant, somehow. And I don't even eff with him. Can't stand him as a hooper, tbh. I just don't want to fathom the possibility where a superstar black basketball player would knowingly support 12.

The other thing that gets lost in this...James wore the mask but you mean to tell me the dozens of, if not 100+, folks he encountered didn’t say anything? Then the Rockets/NBA decided to post that to their official social media account? I know institutional failures are a real thing but between James and the social media team, SOMEONE knew what they were doing by posting that.

So the Blazers are all-of-a-sudden the hot pick amongst NBA media types as a sleeper contender in the West. Much as Dame is my guy, eh. Some old Blazers to me, even with Nurk back.

Supporting the police/law enforcement is different than supporting Blue Lives Matter. Blue Lives Matter is a direct countermovement to Black Lives Matter (BLM).

Black Lives Matter advocates against police brutality against African Americans. Blue Lives Matter advocates that folks who harm law enforcement officers should go to jail for a hate crime. It's essentially advocating that police officers should be handed rights that black folks still struggle to get today. It's insulting AF.

As much as it's **** the police, I feel that the distinction between law enforcement and Blue Lives Matter is an important one.

We all know that is not the only mask that could have covered his whole beard. I am with lawdog's original hunch that not this wasn't necessarily James' doing but SOMEONE (some people) knew what they were doing from handing him the mask, the photo op and posting it to social media.

Is it POSSIBLE... like... what if he said something like "I just grabbed a bandana. I love The Punisher. Saw the bandana. Bought it. Wore it. Had no idea there were any other meanings. Yeah, American flag. I see that. Punisher. American flag. I live in America. I have my jersey retired at a damn strip club. I have to wear a mask now. That's all it was."

Collectively, tomatoes still being thrown? Like... there's no way that's possible? We wouldn't entertain the possibility that he doesn't know what the blue striped American flag means? I don't see him as the Back the Blue type, but I didn't think @beach em was who he was. I get that. Has Har_en said things previously that would support that he's backing the blue, that this isn't an accident?

As sad of a statement that it actually is, he probably had no idea. On the flip side but related, think about how many business leaders, or regular citizens for that matter, show support to causes that further the advancement of minorities through donations...but couldn’t tell you a damn thing about the organization or communities they’re supporting. It’s ignorant which isn’t an excuse but unfortunately it’s commonplace in today’s society.

Not sure why we would have the Jordan logo instead of Nike... curious what other looks will be revealed wonder if it’s just for this one feels like this could be a alternate. I’m a fan of our current uniforms except the white ones but this simpler look going on here works too
