If he makes any kind of back-tracking public statement, THEY will say he was “bullied” into doing it by the BLM crowd and anti-law-enforcement-libs. So however this plays out isn’t going to be great.
If it wasn’t 2020, I’d have a hard time believing that we’re looking at political controversy over the color/design of a face covering an NBA player is wearing in the Orlando bubble. Worst. Year. Ever.

See, call me naive, but I'm buying that. I bet Meek STILL don't know, which at this point is willful ignorance because obviously he knows it's a hot topic and he has spoken on the mask and he has the internet, so there you go.
But I'm buying that there are people who are so entrenched in what they do, (especially professional athletes), that they don't know about a thin blue line or what all the symbols of 'Back the Blue' are or even other things.

The other thing that gets lost in this...James wore the mask but you mean to tell me the dozens of, if not 100+, folks he encountered didn’t say anything? Then the Rockets/NBA decided to post that to their official social media account? I know institutional failures are a real thing but between James and the social media team, SOMEONE knew what they were doing by posting that.

that’s why I don’t buy the “I didn’t know, I’ll do better” schtick, especially when they’re public figures/athletes with a staff people who look after them in some way to prevent the BS.

HE didn't even really call him out. He "nominated" him in those charity pledges celebs do all the time and Meek Mill lame *** took it as being "called out".

Just doing a little poking around on the Interwebz, the kind of mask Harden wore is specifically marketed by the sites that sell it as a “Blue Lives Matter” or “Thin Blue Line” mask. So it would be pretty hard to someone to buy that item to not know what it was. But I acknowledge it’s possible, maybe even likely, Jim didn’t order the mask himself. Whoever did buy it though, probably knew.
