I don’t think it was shade he just giving credit to Vogel but everything has to have a deeper meaning now a days.

Kind of hard to say for sure without knowing the exact question that prompted his comments, but just based on what he said, you may be right.

The ebb and flow of NBA play is interesting. For years, we were told that big men weren't important and teams moved to positionless basketball. But with the dominance of Anthony Davis, Jokic into a lesser extent Bam during this playoff run, I see the pendulum swinging back towards teams valuing big men. I think free agent big men are going to get paid this offseason because the teams know they're going to need someone to combat these dominant bigs. A guy like Zubac is going to get big money

i disagree. It’s only a handful of them worth valuing like that. AD at the 4 is a game changer because of his improved shooting. Zubac got thrashed, his value isn’t going up.

Agreed. Bigs are not having a resurgence. There just happen to be some PFs/Cs who have excelled in these playoffs because they’re multi-skilled and can shoot. Bigs who don’t have those things to offer are contributing players only sporadically, at best, in today’s NBA.

Elite bigs are always going to be valued. They genrally have the ability to be dominant on both ends of the floor. It's the one dimensional bigs like Drummond/Adams/Whiteside etc that are getting paid astronomical amounts of money but aren't worth it.
