i'm not saying he was loved. but if most of lebrons haters are really kobe fans and vice versa...it wasnt like that back then with kobe fans vs tmac. it wasnt beef.

i actually talked to a dude the other day, he was our waiter at BJ's in Orlando, born n raised. Gave props to kobe, but said tmac was better.

had a decent perspective. we had a good hoop convo for a bit.

cool dude.

i left without tipping tho. can't let son forget his words have consequences. it'll make him better in the future.

jk i'm bull****ting. he was a cool dude. we tipped well
Just an example of Perspective.

Dudes I grew up with were either with Kobe or TMAC.

I don't take anyone seriously when they say they "hate" a player, maybe they think they do but I don't think folks are really that emotionally invested.

I'll say this regarding steph

I've never seen a player of his elk, w/his resume, be disparaged like this. Not even just now, but ever since 14' when he started closing windows and taking chips away, it was a problem.

It's almost like, for a variety of reasons (his background, size, style of play, etc) players, fans, media personnel, want to give him the credit he deserves. They talk like he he doesn't have the highest peak in league history, as if he doesn't already have 2 MVPs, a 73 win season, a 30ppg 50/40/90/400 campaign, it's fascinating to watch.

None of his contemporaries, past or present to me face this much discrediting. It's not even slander w/steph, it legit seems more than that. It's like ****** was waiting on this season from Golden State, BAD :lol

as far as he being an underdog and what not, you can't say he wasn't. A 3 star from Davidson? There was no real path towards being a lottery pick, let alone a top 15 guy OAT.

I think this is you guys projecting. You have no issues with bron, kobe, KD getting hate but just don’t do it to the puny, regular looking, lightskinned, sucka, jesus lover.
I have spoken about all irrational hate for any Star Athlete. I am not just defending Steph to defend Steph.

It wasn’t beef but people usually liked one or the other

we dont hate on them because of their stature or skin color.

dude literally say curry comes across as soft and weak, because of his size and hue of his brown skin.

Its social conditioning for everyone. not just black people. I've seen other races say he comes across as soft because they have a preconceived notion of lightskin people because of weak *** pop culture.

Like Iggy said, his own colleagues hate on him.

Players didn't hate on Kobe, they don't hate on bron or KD or harden or any other elite guys (players vote MVP, etc.)

Players don't even rock with steph and feel like his style of play his gimmicky, he plays on a stacked team, etc.

Never seen nothing like it.

If you HAD to give a Top 5 Reasons Why as to why people feel the need to disrespect Steph, what would YOU say?

of course, but it wasnt 'like one and hate the other' like it is with kobe and bron.

and mac and kobe were in direct comp with each other for top wing.

it's cause of his lighter complexion

HIM HIM freeze freeze

This isn't something that hasn't been addressed before. I am certainly not pulling the Skin-Tone logic out of thin air.

Again, I am not saying it is the ONLY reason why. In short, I just think folks think dude is a b*tch.

he's a ***** based on what though? that's nonsense. what can they possibly point a finger to as actions of his being ***** made? its because of his skin tone bro. if they think he's a *****, its because of his skin tone.

He is

From a Well-To-Do Background
Frail
Light Skinned

It isn't JUST because he is light-skinned. Kenyon Martain was light and nobody thought he was a sucka. Same as MAtt Barnes. Steph's stature doesn't help his image when it comes to NOT looking like a sucka.

It isn't nonsense, that is how people's brains work.

Maybe because I was younger during his peak but I just remember everybody loving dude and saying he was even better than Kobe
You just debunked your own theory the moment you mentioned Kobe, knowing damn well his fans/stans would never show love to anyone challenging Beans status.

And his inability to get out of the 1st round became a yearly topic of discussion, similar to CP3 and now Harden’s annual playoff decline.

If you HAD to give a Top 5 Reasons Why as to why people feel the need to disrespect Steph, what would YOU say?

I know some people say it's colorism, EYE don't think it's that. It may be though.

I think that people and players haven't come to respect his style of play and his come up. It's hard to come to terms with the fact that he stopped KD, Bron, CP3, Dame, and numerous others from getting chips and MVPs. It's like people think he isn't worthy of the things he's accomplished, or rather that he shouldn't be this damn good and that bothers a lot of people.

He's completely bulletproof to me but you're talking to a guy who's been a steph guy (begrudgingly at times) since his freshman year tourney game against Maryland.
