EXACTLY!!  Haynesworth is gonna show out this year.  New England is one of the best run franchises from top to bottom in the NFL.  They won't tolerate his BS.  What's going to happen is that he'll get somewhere around 10 sacks, and the Pats will flip him for a 3rd rounder in 2012 or 13.  That's what they do...

When I read that the security guard didn't let John Beck into ******** Park because he didn't know who he was I knew it was going to be a long season. It gets harder and harder to be a skins fan 10 minutes from Baltimore with the progress the Ravens are making. Hoping for 6-7 wins.

I'm going to try to be optimistic, maybe Beck will be a Mark Rypien? Kind of a journeyman who struck gold in a season.
Or like a Doug Williams. Point is we've only won one SuperBowl with a great QB, so maybe theres hope...but probably not.

That schedule is brutal

Perfectly set up to tank and get Andrew Luck, but I know they'll somehow find a way to win 5-7 games.

I'm a big proponent of Bill Simmons' philosophy that the worst thing you can do (he was talking about the NBA, but this applies probably even more in the NFL) is to be mediocre. You should either be contending or rebuilding. It does you no good whatsoever to hover around .500 every year and delude yourself into thinking you could contend in the playoffs, all it does is lessen your chances of landing a franchise player in the draft. That's why it's been so awful to follow the Skins because they kid themselves into thinking they have what it takes year after year when it's never been the case.

Getting Luck won't fix the team overnight; we still have a ton of other weak spots. But show me the last team to win a superbowl without a great QB at the helm. It's only happened a couple times in the last twenty years and those were teams with transcendent defenses (Ravens, Bucs). If you know that you are rebuilding and will not be making noise in the playoffs, and you know there is the best QB prospect since Manning in the draft next year, it makes no sense not to tank. You either tank the season or get ready to trade an $!% load for the number one pick.

Despite the fact that Beck will be at quarterback, I still want to see something positive out of the offense this year. From what I saw last year I've got a nagging suspicion that Kyle Shanahan has no idea what he's doing, and got to where he is solely because of his father. Last season there was no offensive identity, no consistency in play calling, crazy sub patterns, horrific 3rd down play calling, lack of synergy, etc.

7 wins would be fine, but honestly if we end up with 3 I wouldn't be too broken up about it. This franchise desperately needs a game-changer/franchise player, and there's a QB at Stanford who would be ideal.

It worked in Houston

Granted we don't have the piece they (Texans) have and we are in a completely different division, it all comes down to having the right players for your system and players executing plays.

Last year we had no line (AGAIN) and it was everyone  first year in the system. The game we played against the Texans the offense looked great, but then fell off hard!
