So are these supposed to be a reference to Inter and AC?  Cuz that's the vibe I got... but some people are saying Barca...

Bit of blaugrana on the Kobe 11 Mambacurial, launching globally on September 8.

Ah... apparently 'blaugrana' means "Blue and deep red Palace"... an arena in Barcelona.

Pretty shocking to see him go for so low. He should go out on loan to New Castle with the option for them to buy.
his transfer fee from Sounders to Spurs was £2.5M tho.... seems like decent business IMO

Definitley good business and probably why he didn't end up Hull or Sunderland this summer. I recall they were only offering £3.5 Levy knew he could get more.

Champions League draw this Thurs...

The 32 teams are separated into four pots. Pot 1 contains the holders (Real Madrid) and the champions of the top 7 leagues, as ranked by UEFA country coefficient.

The remaining three pots are ranked in order of UEFA team coefficient, which is based on a club's performance in the Champions League and the Europa League over the past five years. The eight highest-ranked teams will be in pot 2, the next eight in pot 3 and lowest-ranked eight in pot 4.

No team can play a club from their own association. CSKA Moscow and Dynamo Kiev cannot be drawn in the same group for political reasons.

Tottenham can only be ranked in pot 2 if both Manchester City and Porto lose in the playoff round. FC Basel will be ranked in pot 2 if one of those teams fails to qualify.

Club Brugge will be in pot 3 or 4 depending on which clubs qualify.

The draw ceremony also includes the 2015-16 UEFA Best Player in Europe awards for men and women.

TEAMS TO ENTER IN GROUP STAGE

Seeded Pot 1: Real Madrid (holders), Barcelona, Leicester City, Bayern Munich, Juventus, Benfica, PSG, CSKA Moscow

Pot 2: Atletico Madrid, Borussia Dortmund, Arsenal, Sevilla, Napoli, Bayer Leverkusen +2

Pot 3: Dynamo Kiev, Lyon, PSV Eindhoven, Sporting CP + 4

Pot 4: Besiktas +7

Pot to be determined: FC Basel, Tottenham Hotspur, Club Brugge

GROUP STAGE MATCHDAYS
September 13, 14
September 27, 28
October 18, 19
November 1, 2
November 22, 23
December 6, 7

Round of 16 draw: Monday, Dec. 12.

Yedlin needs to get out of England.

Go to Germany of France or something

Why? Age old cliches aside his game is tailor mad for the EPL.

Doesn't he come off the bench? I feel like he can be a starter elsewhere

He was a starter for Sunderland last season. Back at Spurs he's behind Kyle Walker and Danny Rose. Two damn good outside backs imo. They also have additional depth so he might not even be first off the bench at the position.

I feel you though. I was pissed when MLS turned down the bid Roma put in and opted for the Spurs offer. Would have rather seen him in Italy at the time.

Pretty insightful interview with Mukwelle Akale. He made his first team debut with Villarreal in their last preseason game a week or two back.

http://fiftyfive.one/2016/08/catching-mukwelle-akale/

When he returned to Villarreal for training, he was pulled up to the Villarreal B team and played the first half against Rayo Vallecano’s first team.

He continued to train with the C team but was then surprised – as were all the players – to learn that former head coach Marcelino had departed the club after leading his team to a  4th place finish last season. The announcement, posted on the team website, was startling to many.  “Villarreal wants to wish Marcelino all the best for the rest of his career,” the announcement simply said.

The team pulled in Fran Escribá, a 51-year-old manager who played his entire career at Valencia and has been coaching since 2001. His latest head job was with Getafe CF in the second division, which had gained promotion to the first division.

Akale said he could immediately see a change in styles between the two managers. “In the second session I trained with the first team,” explained Akale. He said he’d never been given that opportunity in the year-and-a-half he’s been with Villarreal.

La Liga watchers, why haven't any big clubs made a move for Inaki Williams yet?

Probably has something to do with Ahletic being pretty renowned hard negotiators
@Matte_Moretto: Oliver Torres to @FCPorto is a deal done, definitely. Manquillo is going to sign for @SunderlandAFC. #TransferNews #ATM

Super unexpected moves
