And like trey already alluded to, the real value is that the stadiums are already built.

U.S. Soccer disclosed it's financial reporting from the "fake" Copa last week. USSF net income from the tournament was $46M.

$46M in profit after each country from CONCACAF/CONMEBOL, both confederations, FIFA and affiliates took their cut, on a hastily thrown together, 16 team off shoot tournament.

2014 World Cup garnered Brazil a $15 BILLION LOSS.

Logistically, it makes more sense to host it in EU than NA
Only in the context of travel.

In which case the exact same logic applies to Brazil, and Australia, and China, and Russia and any other geographically immense country.

It's just not a valid reason to not host it here.

It would be easy to host in North America. Group stages are hosted regionally like March Madness (e.g. Group 1 plays in the New England area, G2 plays in Mexico City, G3 in PNW/BC, etc). Whittle it down to bigger regions like Texas and NY/Toronto hosting semis, and then finish off the final in LA at the Rose Bowl. Not hard to coordinate tbh, we've had the framework and infrastructure for decades.

I'm not arguing against it, I would be happy if it did so I could hit up some games

But their are factors y'all ain't considering

Time zones for 1

Tv deals

Tourism is another

Public transportation

There's a bunch of 100k stadiums, but can those places handle a 100k influx in tourists?

Player travel

Security

Etc

You act like these weren't considerations in 1994.

Trust they are taken into consideration. None of them provide an obstacle that hasn't been easily overcome in another country in recent years... or in America 25 years ago.

youtube is having full replays of El Clasico right now. don't know the exact year but it was when Pep's Barca and their jerseys were divided in half the burgundy and blue. this might be the 6-2 game

yall both have a point imo...houston nrg stadium is pretty crazy.

but id still rather a match be played in stadiums built for football and not the nfl.

Bruh really showing pics of exteriors and renderings

They already built though
So is Allianz, bernebeu, camp nou etc etc
Bro the Camp Nou is a dump.  As a long time Oakland Coliseum season ticket holder, it takes A LOT for a concrete structure to feel inferior to me.

For every one Bernebeu or Alianz in Spain or Germany, there's literally 10 in the United States.  It is what it is.

As I'm sure most of you don't know...

Today is a day where marches are happening all over South Africa calling for the current president Jacob Zuma to resign as president. This is a very politically turbulent time, as S&P just downgraded South Africa to junk status, and just downgraded 7 banks in SA as well. The finance minister was just fired recently.

So people decided to march.... 8o

The stadiums and arenas in the US are way too amenity based and corporate centric. I can't speak on those in Europe

All the teams who have the best stadiums are trash in the US
