A superior goal differential from all group stage games will only come into play after those criteria. I prefer the "classical" system but it's been like that for some time.
So the two away goals will probably prevent us from finishing the group stage before Real but it's impossible for me to be mad about that after yesterday's game. We lost three of our four key players this summer, replaced them with a lot of young talent and still manage to play a game like yesterday's against the current champions of Europe. I'm still hyped because of how well Dembele, Götze, Weigl, Pulisic etc. performed. This team will provide me with a lot of joy over the next couple of years if we manage to keep the core together.
Also, as it's customary over here in Europe, upholding the spirit of fair play and the beautiful game of Kings, my conclusion of yesterdays game: We obviously were the better team and Real only got lucky and in no way deserved to achieve a draw.

Temp loss of time & space on my part. Somehow forgot it was group stage (maybe because the marquee matchup).
Can't help but chuckle at big sam. Spent years lobbying for the position & then effs it up going for $400k. Then complains about entrapment.
